I’d show the team a map of the MCG, highlight to the midfield the defensive end and explain to them they are not playing netball- there are no exclusion areas. In seriousness, I think it’s more a break for the coaches- so they can Google the 6-6-6 rule and see what it means.

Not sure who we are into, but would like to see what we would get in return for Frost, OMac, Petracca, Garlett, Hunt, ANB and Viney. This year will define us and we need to be ruthless. We have severely overestimated our list.

I’ve lost 2 young kids who just can’t take the beltings and negative media. Hard being a kid at school in red and blue footy colours. Tried hard to convince them we are improving, but don’t believe it myself and am now warming to watching games of teams the kids support. Tough times

My issue with recruiting is that we don’t seem to scout well outside of Metro areas. We have done more out of QLD, but the west and NT talent alludes us. We like blokes under our nose.

In my eyes and the view I have held for some time is that we have the weakest coaching panel in the comp. Never liked what Roosy put together, which he did on the back of lack of time, hence selected who he knew he could work with. Goodwin has not added many solid layers.

Good thing is that being a contract year.. he might finish the year off strong if we do not sign him to end of season.

We played our best footy last year, when we went smaller in the forward line and just got the ball to ground. As stated already, contested marking is not our go- we should always look at hitting up a forwarded with a 20-30 meter kick in space.
