Is Laura Kane previously from Play School? -
Arrived, didn’t like the culture, then left…

Good to see Clarry back and happy. From the photos taken at training, he looks he will need every day of preseason to be hard fit for round 1. Hopefully the drive is still in him.

Would be happy with all those guys in a leadership capacity with JVR

Rookie spots need a major overhaul if Markov gets a rookie spot

The AFL love it as do the TV rights holders as it gives the boundary riders something to talk about when it’s not windy and raining sideways... I love when they cross downstairs to the boundary and they say that the sub is warming up, but they have been on the ground 5 minutes and already had 10 touches and a goal!

He has lots of talent and scope for improvement. He lets himself down with his defensive work, especially when the ball is on the ground. Needs to get stronger legs and core and keep his feet. Hoping that he can cement a spot like AMW in the back half.

Always a bit strange the lingering injury. Felt a bit like a 12 week Hammy

2 gun midfield picks and we kept our current guns.. development of Kolt and Windsor. This year couldn’t have got any worse, let’s hope 2025 couldn’t get any better!!!
-
Wouldn’t use a first rounder on a ruck again, unless they are a bonafide gun forward too.
-
We need to use these 2 picks to get the best midfielders we can get. Guys with pace who can use the ball. This gives us coverage should Tracc and or Clarry move on next year. I am really comfortable with talls for next year, however we may need to revisit the following year. Petty goes back for mine and hoping Jefferson can grab that 2nd key forward spot. Adam’s may or may not make it. But give him time next year and hoping he can experience senior football at the back end. Key for us is to see improvement and growth from last years recruits in Kolt, Billing’s, McAdam and Fullerton. If they can fulfill potential, then that will be huge. Good year to have good draft picks

My old club.. football factory

It’s an easy out for McClure… “Oliver was keen to be traded, but Geelong and Melbourne couldn’t agree on his value”.. so for now he can continue to throw “stories” out there with no accountability
-
We are a destination for the old.. for those past their prime. Probably taken over from Noosa as a destination
-
I think the belief is that this years draft, offers us the best chances to get replacement midfielders. Not holding my breath of Oliver and Trac improving their value next year. Trac may struggle post injury and take time and who knows with Clarry. My post is purely about risk vs reward of offloading this year to rebuild talent.
-
This will be hugely unpopular, but I believe with limited knowledge of the internal situation, that Melbourne will regret not trading one or more of Clarry, Trac or Kos. I have a feeling that one or more will request a trade next year. Happy to be wrong, hoping I’m wrong..

Make a [censored] decision with the best interest of the team, the club and its members at heart and stand by it!!!

I must admit I haven’t followed the Clarry situation all that closely as it all makes me pretty flat. But someone told me today that Clarry has not got the message and does not appear to be keen to turn his career around at Melbourne- so what choice do we have but to move him on. Sacrifice one to save the rest! Agree with most we should have handle the media better, but the media appear to know more that our coach and have a direct line to the club gossip department. We move Oliver, we get the best we can in return, we keep Trac and start to stabilise our culture. It’s painful, but it might be the only way forward.
-
Where is Kossies home? Feel like it’s anywhere except Melbourne.
-
I would also argue that there is a possibility that Goodwin wants this, but if a trade is not agreed- would want to appear as if he is not involved. As he will need a working relationship with Clarry. Just a thought. Better to make Pert the bad guy.

It’s always topical. We could have potentially had all of the following; Woewodin, Yze, White, Brown, Smith & Viney all on the list as Father Son selections. Smith is clearly not going to be retained and not sure if Yze will make it, or White will chose us. It’s not about quantity of picks, but quality. Brisbane are getting quality, as have Geelong and Collingwood. We are a mixed bag. Viney was a free kick to us. NGA we have an argument, but father son we have done okay.

It’s a great point, but the reality is that it’s the best player out of 6-7 other midfielders. The umps don’t look beyond the square.
