Calling all pre-season track watchers ...
I hope the focus this preseason is on explosive pace and high speed endurance and not bulking up. I watched 10 minutes of the 2021 grand final yesterday and for reference, 10 minutes of the last round 2025 and couldn’t believe how top heavy we look now. Trac in particular looks more like the bulky size when he was drafted. Key is getting to contests and getting out into space, more than busting through packs these days.

Farewell Christian Petracca
He actually said he had spoken of his will to work with Humphreys a few days ago. Wonder if this was before the close of trade period and if he was telling him to stay at GC.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Heard he told a first year player he didn’t have time for it.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Superstar, club great.. but become self absorbed, ultimately offered nothing from a leadership point of view. Heard a horror story about a new player coming in and wanting to shadow him and his response. Go to GC. Cook packet pasta and enjoy IG with posts with your nonna followers

Giants have just grabbed pick 12- are we about to see the Clarry trade drop?
-
Bailey Humphrey
Can confirm his drop punts, spin end over end… and he doesn’t have a 6ft ball drop…

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Loved him as a player, was unbelievable for us and dragged us over the line on so many occasions. However, he and Trac were not only poor leaders, but were counterproductive to our development of younger players. I am now a firm believer, strong system will beat superstar players on a disconnected team. We have a nucleus, but just need to build the system- which I’m confident that King can do. We were never going to get the best out of Clarry or Trac again, comparing them to 2021 version is not fair. They might blossom at another club, but so be it. Mark this trade period down as a positive for the clubs next 4 years. We will free up valuable $s and hopefully add some key pieces. I love this club… this club! The members, fans and anyone wearing our jumper. Players who leave to me, regardless of status are always part of the story, but ultimately ex-players.

Yes if the price is right.

Bailey Humphrey
I guess it’s how you rate Humphrey and whether you think he is an upgrade on Trac next year. I think in 2026, Humphrey could have more influence at GC as a mid forward than Trac. 2027 and beyond, BH could be anything..

If they are offering rubbish picks, do we try get a player back?

Farewell Judd McVee
I still reserve the right to boo him

Bailey Humphrey
With talk that he has been in contact with Hawthorn for 2 months- it’s going to be hard to get him to nominate us. We have very little appeal, other than a new coach and new gameplan.. plus plenty of freed up cash.

Bailey Humphrey
Would not surprise me to see him in Brown n Gold

Bailey Humphrey
Going to be very difficult to get him to commit to us, without paying him overs and GCS overs as well. In my opinion, he is not a straight swap for Tracc. We would need another first round pick to at least be a serious option. If I was in his position, I’d play out his contract, potentially get success in a very strong side, then move to TAS on a mega contract.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
He can’t play midfield anymore as he simply lets opposition walk the ball out the front of the square. Tough call, but having seen our midfield obliterated by GC and North this year, change is needed.

Yeah, did see that.. pretty funny

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I want a club full of invested players, who are a tight group, all working their butts off for team success. Whether that translates to wins next year to me is irrelevant. I want an attacking style of gameplan that brings joy to players and supporters. I’m sick of player run agendas. #InKingyWeTrust

The List Manager Tim Lamb
It was a good, comprehensive update. Understand a lot is kept in house, but he has said what he can and was open with the situation. I like the new direction the media team are taking, nice as members to be informed and entertained.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Really impressed with Kings media work. He fills me with confidence that we are in good hands, and that we will play an attractive brand of football, that I crave! Yes, I am a romantic, who gets carried away… but isn’t that why we love the game and blind faith is what gets us through the tough times!

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Glad to have a new coach, wish him well in making us a strong side again. Can’t wait till 2026

Stating the obvious, but we need a tall key forward who can jump. We have lots of 192-195 types, but we lack the 200+cm key forward that other sides have. Critical for the kick to a congested contest. I think a good forward mix includes a 200 cm, King type (Petty is not the guy) a 194cm roaming CHF (JVR could be this if he learns to mark and develops some forward craft, or Kentfield) and a couple of 188-190 types mobile, yet strong aerial forwards (Fritta and possible another one required to replace Melksham)

Pushing and Shoving
My greatest hatred in the game, is when a player wins a free kick, for holding the ball for example, they push the player on the ground. They should reverse the free kick for poor sportsmanship.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I might be wrong, but didn’t Trac flick his agent, now his current agent isn’t accredited to engage in trade negotiations?
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Not a Buckley fan, but the standards he sets will be high. Players will be hard fit.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Was a smart footballer. Like Caracella, worked incredibly hard and always found space.
