2026 Injury List
I wonder when Viney might move from TBC. Really starting to wonder if retirement is closer than a return… On Paddy Cross, his work competing in the air was amazing, reminds me of Melky.

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Steele
I think they pushed him out of the midfield to become a forward in a view to get different players through the middle. He wasn’t keen on the roles proposed and when Flanders signed saints told him he might not be best 23. That is what a Saints mate told me. Saints mate also said recently he would be their best midfielder this year if still there

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton
I don’t mind supporters having a crack at players performance on the day. It gets at me when they go on and attack saying things like ‘worst player we have ever had’, ‘should never play again’ ‘needs to be delisted’. Anyone who has played a reasonable level of sport knows that some days your form drops, some weeks you can lose a bit of confidence, or you maybe injured. I use Harry Sharp as an example of someone who just needs a little time and patience to learn his role. He now looks settled. We will suck at different times this year and individually our players will panic, we just need to show a little understanding and not call for them to lose their employment after each poor decision.

One thing I like to see is Latrelle and Fritta getting the ball up on the wing and kicking it to our forwards, that is where they are damaging. Combined with Kos and Chandler, their delivery is sublime

Is JVR going to be in trouble for pushing his man into Dean in that last Quarter which saw Dean tunnelled and off with a neck or back issue? AFL was strong on this last season

Commentators love Cripps, he throws the ball time and time again and they fawn over his elite hands. Clarry used to do the same and they were all over him

I have never been a big Howes fan, but he was great today. Enjoyed seeing he, Sparrow, Kolt and Sharp excelling under the new gameplan.

I remember in the Grand Final, they thought Trac had broken the all times disposal record, then they went back and realised he had missed a handball, so removed a disposal from his stats… Wonder if they will do the same for Patrick Cripps and acknowledge he has never handballed at AFL level

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton
Interesting to see how Rivers handles this. For a guy who started out in defence, he appears unaware how to defend. His disposal and composure under pressure for me is a worry. He should be better than he is. It is the right call dropping him. Lever and CJ surely on notice. If I was on the list, I would know what is coming if I don’t perform… Love the new way. We have been screaming for competition for spots.

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton
Ok, I’ll bite.. Laurie was drafted during a covid year, where most players from that draft had missed substantial development blocks. Under Goodwin he has been played primarily as a sub, so to be honest, we are not really sure what he can offer. He had a good game where he kicked a few goals as sub, but was dropped not long after. Not sure he is an inside Mid, he is a winger, but played in the middle, due to lack of options at VFL. Kings style will suit good ball users, so let’s judge him at the end of this season.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Fremantle
Without seeing the program, Salem and Lever are very keen to kick off the ground, knock a ball into space and handball over their head to avoid contact and accountability. All the things defenders are told not to do. Been happening for a while and costs us goals. Seeing Howes do it more now too. Such is the leadership shadow. Defence needs to tighten up, or it’s time to move personal. Salem also looks a bit slow in the position he is playing. Half back flankers are now wingers, so will be interesting to see what they do with him.
