Smith is clearly not going to be retained and not sure if Yze will make it, or White will chose us. It’s not about quantity of picks, but quality. Our zone is what won us a flag, but it’s what makes us so susceptible to fast sides with great kicking skills. We cannot defend grass. Hopefully our brains trust are going to town on what the next 2-3 years of Gamestyle will look like and drill it in day one of preseason. Hawks are all about ground ball and tacking, that is where I’d start as we are a poor tackling side and we fumble.

Yeah I live in Regional Victoria and my girls are between 5-12, all have heaps of sporting commitments and none like AFL. I buy a membership each year for me and my oldest. First year of not attending a single game. Never felt more disconnected with the club. Never get a call from them or anything, it’s just a cash donation.

My concern is if we hold people to contracts and then when it’s time to trade them we end up in Tassie compromised shallow drafts. Rather trade when value is high.

Listened to the full interview and was left with no doubt that the embarrassment that I feel for this club is justified. I had a feeling that she was out of her depth and causing friction within the club, post interview I have no doubts. Whately was brilliant too btw.. maybe he should conduct the internal review (tongue in cheek)

Injury aside, she talks up how she hears from families about a young kid re-signing and how they love the club, yet has barely spoken to the family of our highest paid player… a guy who is extremely family oriented.. it’s management 101
