Schache and McDonald have zero intensity. Tomlinson would be a better forward option than these two or Grundy at this stage.

We have too many inside mids and perhaps with Hibbo a starter next week, one too many small defenders. I think JJ goes out, Hibbo comes in. Bowey might need to be moved further up the ground. He looks very shaky with the high ball coming in.

Ladies and gentlemen.. after some soul searching last night, I am far more positive about things today. I agree with Goody, we are in good shape. Last night for the most part we were average and should have snatched that. We just need to figure out that forwardline puzzle and we will with it! Need a Schache or TMAC to put in a solid block and put their hand up for the 2nd key post. Fritta and Joel Smith will be a handful as 3rd and 4th talls. This is the obvious one, but I still worry about 2nd ruck. I don’t want JVR anywhere near a centre circle, he has just become so important to our success. Schache for mine this week as a lead up forward.

One thing that bugs me about these things is the announcement on Channel 7 news as a scoop. Surely supporters/members could get this info. Not watch a prerecorded presser from Richo. Anyway, feel for Petty. Think this will kill some momentum for us. Hopefully we find a way

After a bit of reflection, I think either of Brown, Schache or Grundy must play. With JVR now our key forward, we need a legitimate 2nd ruck so JVR can focus on his forward craft. My preference is Brown if fit than Schache. Need forwards that lead hard at the ball and they are closest to like for like with Petty. Accuracy is also key to replacing Petty, both are deadly accurate.

Sorry for my ignorance, but would 5 weeks mean available for first final? R22-24 plus a week break.

I think a combination of Smith, Brown and Tmac will get us through till Fritta is back. BB’s knee only allows him to play one game before it blows up. TMAC will be an option once he has some VFL form. Joel smith is good, but more of a third tall, not strong enough in the contest.
