  1. Petty is young and still quite immature. He benefits greatly from having leaders around him, hence why he was outstanding as a backman with May and Lever. He showed glimpses forward last year, Melksham helped his game. We really need leadership in the forward half. TMAC to play rest of the year forward and Petty back for the rest of the year. Need to settle the team now, forwards play forwards, back play back etc. if we have holes, then we keep players in natural position and cope with it.
  2. Would not be surprised to see May out this week. He looks injured, saw his ribs get hit again against Freo and he cannot pick up a ground ball.
  3. The Choco Williams ‘school of skills’. Should have him kicking off his shin & ankle in no time..
  4. I’d prefer to play for the future. Work out who will carry us forward and who we need to cut from the list. There is a certain style of play this year and list profile to execute that style. We don’t have it and I’m not sure our 2021 version with this list would stack up. The current style of play reminds me of what Dean Bailey was working towards.

Popped down to training, but must have got there late. Just saw Witches Hats- some wearing bibs and some without..
  6. Might be a good reminder on the banner for Monday- “Don’t be afraid to tackle”
  7. He probably would be better. Without knowing him, he looks a real confidence player, I would lock him in against North in a couple of weeks.
  8. Interested to hear from someone with better footy iq- as to what has happened to our defensive zone? We were once a very good side at defending the ground. But last few weeks, sides are opening us up, even on slow plays. The West Coast game I remember the Eagles had a 3 on 1 from a kickin. Have we changed something to get a better turnover, or have sides picked us apart with kick handball and run? To me this is costing us as we just spend too many petrol tickets defending lose opposition. Sorry if this is covered already.
  9. Do we call time on the experiment and move him back and TMAC forward? Ideally Petty to play out the year as a backman as we try to build some trade currency for him before he jets off to SA.
  10. Warming up to him, but not Kings Birthday.. feel like I’ve seen that movie before..
  11. I put this 100% on the senior coach. His inability to rotate players through the side, tending to play his favourites injured over fresh legs has driven fringe players to explore options. Goodwin also controls who we bring in and what type of player. He is responsible for where we sit. List managers execute a strategy provided to them by the senior coach and footy manager. If we continue to underperform it will be the senior coach who goes first.
  12. Would love to see Taj given a run in the middle and Rivers as a defensive Mid. Viney is in such bad form he was almost standing on Maxys foot at every centre bounce and got torched on the spread. Oliver isn’t working hard enough so should go back to VFL in my eyes. Sparrow is a lost cause. Bowey over time could play midfield, but we need some big bodies in there at the moment. Cupboard is empty
  13. Luke Jackson ‘Departure Lounge’ vibes
  14. I’m actually feeling okay after the loss. Have reverted back to the mode that has carried me through most of my supporter life.. ‘zero expectations as we are [censored]’ … again.
  15. There are some glaring issues of onfield leadership and poor coaching. But one thing that is really obvious to me is that our list profile seems to be a long way off current trend. If you look at Hawthorn, Collingwood and Sydney- they have really dynamic, fast midfield/forwards with excellent skills. And they play such exciting football. I don’t enjoy watching us play this year, even when we are winning. We a have not evolved and have not added to our list. We are playing a style of footy that doesn’t suit us and the style that suits us, doesn’t hold up anymore. Time to bottom out, cut the list deep and regenerate. Max, Trac, Kos, Windsor, JVR and McVee would be the only ones I’d say are not up for trade.
  16. Does anyone know what Choccos KPIs are?
  17. Me thinks The rebuild is upon us..
  18. We have poor skills and no leg speed. When our defensive pressure is off, we are a bottom 4 side
  19. Can all clubs get together and make this a weekly occurrence.
  20. But wasn’t Luke there working and Peter was in a corporate box on the juice? If my kid was winning games of AFL of his own boot I’d carry on however I like
  21. It’s a strange year of injuries. Not just our club…
  22. Patrick Cripps whispers sweet nothings in their 👂
  23. We still need another really good medium defender like Hibbo. If we can draft or recruit his replacement, then he will be a great midfielder

    Would be a great acquisition.
