  1. We are a destination for the old.. for those past their prime. Probably taken over from Noosa as a destination
  2. I think the belief is that this years draft, offers us the best chances to get replacement midfielders. Not holding my breath of Oliver and Trac improving their value next year. Trac may struggle post injury and take time and who knows with Clarry. My post is purely about risk vs reward of offloading this year to rebuild talent.
  3. This will be hugely unpopular, but I believe with limited knowledge of the internal situation, that Melbourne will regret not trading one or more of Clarry, Trac or Kos. I have a feeling that one or more will request a trade next year. Happy to be wrong, hoping I’m wrong..
  4. Make a [censored] decision with the best interest of the team, the club and its members at heart and stand by it!!!
  5. I must admit I haven’t followed the Clarry situation all that closely as it all makes me pretty flat. But someone told me today that Clarry has not got the message and does not appear to be keen to turn his career around at Melbourne- so what choice do we have but to move him on. Sacrifice one to save the rest! Agree with most we should have handle the media better, but the media appear to know more that our coach and have a direct line to the club gossip department. We move Oliver, we get the best we can in return, we keep Trac and start to stabilise our culture. It’s painful, but it might be the only way forward.
  6. Where is Kossies home? Feel like it’s anywhere except Melbourne.
  7. I would also argue that there is a possibility that Goodwin wants this, but if a trade is not agreed- would want to appear as if he is not involved. As he will need a working relationship with Clarry. Just a thought. Better to make Pert the bad guy.
  8. It’s always topical. We could have potentially had all of the following; Woewodin, Yze, White, Brown, Smith & Viney all on the list as Father Son selections. Smith is clearly not going to be retained and not sure if Yze will make it, or White will chose us. It’s not about quantity of picks, but quality. Brisbane are getting quality, as have Geelong and Collingwood. We are a mixed bag. Viney was a free kick to us. NGA we have an argument, but father son we have done okay.
  9. It’s a great point, but the reality is that it’s the best player out of 6-7 other midfielders. The umps don’t look beyond the square.
  10. When does this bloke finish up? Haven’t seen the email yet.
  11. Bone/ligaments vs internal organs are very different.
  12. Cannot understate how much the decision to bring Moore off influenced the outcome. Moore is a [censored], playing for a team of [censored]. I can’t stand to lose to them
  13. An afternoon of rom coms
  14. Umpires as Carp as they have been all year
  15. Clarry is the greatest hand baller since diesel. He could even be better. Stuff kicking it, when you have golden hands!!
  16. Our zone is what won us a flag, but it’s what makes us so susceptible to fast sides with great kicking skills. We cannot defend grass. Hopefully our brains trust are going to town on what the next 2-3 years of Gamestyle will look like and drill it in day one of preseason. Hawks are all about ground ball and tacking, that is where I’d start as we are a poor tackling side and we fumble.
  17. Yeah I live in Regional Victoria and my girls are between 5-12, all have heaps of sporting commitments and none like AFL. I buy a membership each year for me and my oldest. First year of not attending a single game. Never felt more disconnected with the club. Never get a call from them or anything, it’s just a cash donation.
  18. My concern is if we hold people to contracts and then when it’s time to trade them we end up in Tassie compromised shallow drafts. Rather trade when value is high.
  19. Freo bottom feeders, stealing more Dees players and destroying us on the park!!
  20. Listened to the full interview and was left with no doubt that the embarrassment that I feel for this club is justified. I had a feeling that she was out of her depth and causing friction within the club, post interview I have no doubts. Whately was brilliant too btw.. maybe he should conduct the internal review (tongue in cheek)
  21. He must have typed “a source close to Kate has informed me” then had to find the delete button on his keyboard
  22. Injury aside, she talks up how she hears from families about a young kid re-signing and how they love the club, yet has barely spoken to the family of our highest paid player… a guy who is extremely family oriented.. it’s management 101
  23. I have not heard a more underprepared interview. She just does not have the skills or EQ
  24. Absolute train wreck… she claims we love Trac and throw our arms around him, yet not talking to his family!! She needs to understand what a marquee player is. Talks about understanding the issues, but hasn’t spoke to Christian. She 100% has to go. She is a scar on the club.
  25. Roffey on SEN at 10:30… will be a Warnie like performance of spin!
