WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Thinking about it more I'd be rapt if we got him for pick 22. he finished 5th in their BnF this year and 4th last year. he is one of their best young players about to hit his prime. trying to think of a rough equivalent from our list. maybe Salem or Harmes. would we be happy with pick 22 for one of these guys? probably those two are better than Langdon but you get my point. Freo will rate Ed highly so we should be prepared for that.

Jamie Elliott
omg im sooo embarrassed now you are trying to hard to fuel outrage
-
Zak Jones
he is fairly quick but have you seen him kick? poor skills and not great decision making either. no point adding speed without kicking skills imo

Jamie Elliott
Bit disappointed but not that much as he'll do a hammy in Feb almost guaranteed. if i was him and was wanting to make a move I would chose interstate not 100 metres away. he is a fan favourite so if he screws pies over he will want to be interstate hopefully we made the pies pay him a higher contract to push someone else out!

Joe Daniher
how hilarious are Dodoros comments regarding Daniher?? We won't be letting him go? Like clubs have a say when a big name decides to leave these days. Joe has pizzed them off good and proper and now Goddard is saying Joe didn't do his rehab well enough what an arrogant, weak, juvenile club.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
GWS had 21 players play 18+ games so they weren't that riddled. their top 10 are arguably the best quality in the comp so no disgrace there. Tomlinson will be a good player but no star. points-wise he is rated 11-12th for the season so i imagine he was around there for the BnF

one extra year is probably not enough to tempt him away unless the coin is a lot higher. if Lions or us offer 4 years he would go for sure. but that is a risky move

Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
Bruce?

Jones steps down as captain.
Is Ology still a thing??

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Ed finished 5th in the BnF behind 4 very good players. I’m very excited about this bloke hopefully becoming a Demon soon!!

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
if reports are correct about 500K I am very happy the club have managed to tempt him to us without selling the farm. Almost impossible to trade a good quality AFL regular for less than 500. remember Dawes on 500K per year 5 years ago? oh dear

If Elliot stays he will have to take a fair bit less money. Players on big contracts at Collingwood: Grundy (huge), Pendelbury, De geoy, Treloar, Beams, Adams, Sidebottom, D Moore. Even Howe and Cox, Crisp would be good coin Compare that to us: Gawn, May, Lever, T Mac. a few will be needing big contracts soon in Clarry, Gus, Trac etc there is no way the pies can pay Elliot what we can even with Tomlinson and Ed coming

Brendan McCartney on SEN
He was asked about the best leaders at the club and named Viney then pointed out one of his qualities. He sets the standard off field with training and committment. He sets the standard on-field with attack on the footy, playing for each other and the will to win. Some of the most important leaderships traits imo. he is not a perfect leader however and I agree he has work to do in the areas you mention. It can be hard to do that when you are under packs so he certainly needs a lot of help especially from the def/fwd lines to set us up. It is fine to criticise but the criticism of him has been over the top imo - not saying by you but in general. calling for him to be dropped from the LG etc. he puts in 100% and would do anything for us to be successful He has earnt respect and I get my back up when supporters don't seem to show him the due respect

so in a team desperately lacking leadership, one of our best two leaders is tradable? I know he had a poor year but he will be back next year and with hopefully some runners in the team to dish off to he will not be caught as often

Farewell Sam Frost
I think Frost wants to go to a team where is guaranteed first team football. We do not rate him as a guaranteed starter after 4 years at the club - he has struggled to hold down a spot in a mostly average team. Hawks need key defenders and will give him more money and a longer contract you would imagine so it makes sense for him to move. We need a consistent defence that can play a system and not turn the ball over. With Lever, May, Jetta, Hore and Salem we have a good core group. we just need to add some youth to the HF line. I personally have no problem with him leaving. The media will pump up the hawks and the trade like they did with us last year - saying we are favourites for the flag. a crazy notion when we just made the finals.

Many on here don't rate Viney's leadership qualities so it is good to hear from someone that would actually know thanks for posting DD
- Trac should be our ‘dusty’

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Will be interesting to see where Ed finishes in the BnF on Saturday. Stats wise he should be top 5, maybe even top 3. hopefully that doesnt hurt our trade position. I would be delighted to get him for pick 22 23yo, 70 games, about to hit his peak. took 131 marks this year, 2nd in uncontested possessions behind Hill. Can't wait to hopefully get him!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
If he was playing good footy and had behavioural issues I’d take the chance but he can’t get on the park. 2 games in 4 years He just wants another contract to waste
-
Farewell Sam Frost
I reckon he has read the tea leaves that with a fit list he is not in our first team. He would get more money and a longer deal at hawks so fair enough leaving
-
Farewell Sam Frost
The hawks are really going down swinging. A crocked Patton and now Frosty. Topping up only works when you have when you have a talented core group

Keith “Bluey” Truscott Trophy 2019
Not sure people really understand our season and how this is reflected in the voting. only 11 players played more than 15 games so the top 10 is basically the players who played out the season. not a reflection of a good season, eg, Hunt/Gus. Viney got 3rd as he played most games and put in every week and did not play as badly as a lot on here think (although it was an average year from him). If we had our best 22 uninjured and Viney put in the same season he would not have made the top 10. see the 2018 voting results. so given the above there is not much point complaining or trying to understand the results. Also, Gawn's season was not as good as 2018, maybe he was influenced by the midfield being so poor but I would say if you looked at both seasons closely he influenced games a lot more in 2018 so i think the votes are fair enough

Keith “Bluey” Truscott Trophy 2019
How is Milkshake second? His first few games were shockers from memory. He had a couple of good games later so maybe he polled top votes?

We are getting Elliot after next season??? You
