  1. In attempt at harmony. I asked, "You think the club haven't been planning this for quite some time?" #67 That was a question not a statement. Rather than name calling you could have said ' I think that they have been. Anyway, I shall chalk this up to a misunderstanding. Go Dees
  2. Chazz you may be delusional. How can I misquote you when I directly quote you? As they say, don't argue with fools. Cheers.
  3. Fantastic! Bravo! The phoneutria are an interesting species, I am unaware of them wandering as far as Mansfield, however I believe James Hird may have mistakenly taken one during the EDS.
  4. Chazz who do you think you are saying that you alone understand a thread and need to explain it to me? I have as much right as you to voice an opinion here, if you don't like it that's fine by me but don't get your knickers in a knot.
  5. From footywire Comparison at the same age, note Hogan had played twice as many games. Player Statistics Comparison Jesse Hogan Name Sam Weideman Fremantle Dockers Team Melbourne Demons Forward Position Forward 71 Career Games 20 Claremont Origin Eastern Ranges February 12, 1995 Date of Birth June 26, 1997 Turned 21 in 2016 Age 21yr 6mth 195cm Height 195cm 100kg Weight 97kg 2012 Mini Draft Last Drafted In 2015 National Draft Round 1, Pick #2 Last Draft Position Round 1, Pick #9 Melbourne Demons Last Drafted By Melbourne Demons 2016 Stats for Season 2018 21 Games 10 9.8 Kicks Per Game 5.7 5.0 Handballs Per Game 5.8 14.8 Disposals Per Game 11.5 7.1 Marks Per Game 4.0 1.9 Goals Per Game 1.0 1.6 Behinds Per Game 0.5 1.4 Tackles Per Game 2.4 0.2 Hitouts Per Game 3.4
  6. You think the club haven't been planning this for quite some time? The club would have contingency plans for all sorts of occurrences, injuries, loss of form, improved form etc. Maybe some supporters are scratching their heads but I really believe this has been in the planning for quite a while. Weid is only part of the solution, May is also. I believe that we will be a better side in 2019.
  7. On the Franklin comparison: Hawthorn 2013 Franklin kicks 60 goals club 414 goals -2014 No Franklin club kicks 418 = minus Franklin's 60 but +4 goals! Sydney 2013 no Franklin 363 goals add Franklin 79 goals for 2014 club drops to 351 for the season. = add Franklins 79 but club -12 We are not minus 47 goals!
  8. post hoc ergo propter hoc!
  9. That defies logic! How does he take 47 goals with him? Are we playing with less players? If we are playing with a replacement player I presume they will help in the goal tally. Do Fremantle have as many forward entries that he enjoyed at Melbourne? It is ridiculous to say we are losing 47 goals. We are losing a player that kicked 47 goals but we may kick more without him. Does that mean he left goals behind? Just give up the notion that we are losing Hogan therefore we lose all those goals. Think of poor Hawthorn when Buddy left, think of the goals he took with him, oh wait a minute didn't they win a flag without him, how was that possible? Edit: 2013 Franklin kicked 60 goals for Hawthorn - without Franklin Hawthorn won the flag in 2014 & 2015
  10. Apology accepted. As for city people and city life I always love the look of the city (in the rear vision mirror) When it comes to the mighty MFC I am a fully paid up country member and don't you forget. (free hit)
  11. Ernie, I live in the country. I may identify as a city (???) because I went to school there. Going to bed a 9am reminds me of my youth but may be a typo. I travel overseas every year and I care about the language and is distresses me when people don't care. (I suspect they don't know any better) but when a fellow poster used coqnescent (sic) I suspect it is not a typo.
  12. Funny how some of us view goals. Did Tyson take his 340 possessions? Does Steven May bring 295 possessions? I like Alistair Clarksons "one soldier out , one soldier in," philosophy. Hogan as good as he is is not 47 goals better that his replacement. I for one think that we will kick more goals in 2019 than 2018 but I am an optimist.
  13. Spell check broken? Or is fully coqnescent your hommage to priapism?
  14. Halfway there? That guy in the stars & stripes shorts can fight and I don't mean the Freddie Mercury look alike.
  15. But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe ya'.
  16. Did you go out with Pena too? Her dad owns a bus company.
  17. I've got this, in my lifetime it is 4 - 3 our way.
  18. DC, I have little faith in figures provided by footy clubs. I have found that heights listed are often way off, as for weight that is harder to determine. I am 184cm and tower over some players listed at 186cm
  19. Providing these two don't kill each other both will improve, I love it.
  20. If we all ignore it will it go away? I have more interest in eating a fatberg than watching AFLXyz..!
  21. What a goose, I shall withdraw in disgrace.
  22. Never trust Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Williams_(Australian_footballer,_born_1983) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Mark Williams (born 13 April 1983) is an indigenous former Australian rules footballer who played with Hawthorn and Essendon in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was traded from the Hawks to the Bombers during the 2009 AFL trade week.
  23. Bennett better than Neitz! Many say Neitz played his best football as a defender. He certainly played much of his early career there and yet his career average is 2.1 goals per match. Bennett a forward averaged 2.8 Bennet never won the Coleman medal, Neitz did. Bennett's best was 4th then 10th and 10th in the Coleman. Neitz 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 5th and 9th Bennett 78 games - Neitz 306 Bennett's accuracy career 215goals 152 behinds, Neitz 631goals, 368 behinds. Neitz for me, plus he was hard, players feared being hit by Neitz not so much Bennett.
