  1. I heard Todd wanted Wines. I'd like to find out 100% though, just to put it to bed. I would've taken Ollie at number 1, but I am bias, I actually watched the nationals that year. I assume many didn't, considering he slid to Port.
  2. Yeah, he is a gun, I love his mind set. JKH is independent, he is a go getter. We have some promising kids coming through. Cannot wait to see Salem out there as well.
  3. I do agree with you, but I also believe that the AFL could easily introduce a Tasmanian side, they wouldn't lose that much on them. A Tasmanian side would make the AFL a much better game. The thing is, a Tasmanian side atm would fly in the face of everything the AFL represents - business. I do think in the long term, Tasmania is a stable prospect, they harness the best land in the country. As resources slow in the future and the focus shifts towards agriculture - which is only a matter of time - then Tasmania are well placed in the future market. The AFL could very well introduce a country Vic Tasmanian team, but Gil would recognize that Vic already have too many sides.
  4. North Melbourne have no link in Tasmania... Hawthorn were the Tasmanian side. North are only down there because they failed as a business model and Vlad had to bail them out - as he bails out all failed ventures. Do I agree he should? No, I don't agree the AFL should be predominantly business either. The AFL is nothing but a business now, it is reactive to everything, changing rules left, right and centre and calling it evolution, I call it reactive garbage. Tasmania now won't have a side until they have an economy - I don't agree it should be this way either. If the Tasmanian government are paying for games, then they do so in hope of one day having a side.
  5. If it creates more revenue, then the AFL will welcome it. Obviously it will lift jumper sales, so the AFL will deem it a success - regardless of whether it actually is. One thing is for sure, it looks ordinary, it's a pathetic idea and why do we want to follow the Americans. Generation 'lt's all about me' is in full swing.
  6. If the AFL wasn't a business, then Tasmania would already have a side. It is probably too late now, but rewind time, keep the game pure and give Tasmania a side That would've been best for football. But the AFL went in another direction, they sold the game down the drain. Now the argument that Tasmania should have a side, really isn't even an argument. Because under the current AFL business model structure, the market isn't large enough for Tasmania. Yet the AFL are happy to send 2 sides down to thieve money off the natives, I guess at least Hawthorn put in time down there. What do North do exactly? They knocked back the Gold Coast, they weren't welcome in Ballarat, so now the AFL gives them games in Tasmania. No wonder people are flocking to other sports.
  7. This kid don't have much luck. Good luck to Trenners in his recovery. He is still only young.
  8. I don't hold weight to any of these lists. Not because they don't include Jones, but because the so-called experts have only just started making Ablett a lock for no 1. Ablett has been a lock since 2008, yet now they just start to give him props. So not enough Ablett love and too much Nic Nat and Buddy love. Big on the hype and little on the out put. Jones a top 15 players in the league as of now. Some would say he could be lower.
  9. Spencer had a reasonable game against St Kilda. Everyone still called for him to be sacked though.
  10. Spencer was good against the Saints as well. He has been underrated this year. I think Jamar is the better tap ruckman, but that is all Jamar can do. I'd rather have a ruckman who cannot kick - but kicks - than a ruckman who can kick, but is afraid to. Jamar isn't done though, when running at full capacity, Mark Jamar is the most important player in our side. Dawes was great, Watts was good. Without Trengove we are a much better side, we aren't one down.
  11. Kelly is going to be a star. Dunstan would've been that mature body to help Jones out. Hindsight is a great thing. I would've pulled the trigger on the Kelly trade, we were not to know Dunstan would 100% slip. Had to pull the trigger on the trade, Tyson is an asset to the club, he has been fantastic. I thought Kelly and Salem were the standout class of the draft, so I look forward to seeing Salem get out there.
  12. It is a great feeling. Hopefully a few more wins, I get the young bloke back on board.
  13. The old man (an Essendon supporter) told me we'd roll Carlton. I didn't believe him, he has more faith in the Dees than I have.
  14. Mick is an ordinary coach, all bluster and no results - like Neeld. Roos is the future, he builds culture.
  15. "The maligned number 1 draft pick" I feel like punching that commentator, he probably hasn't even played football.
  16. Gee we dodged a bullet with Warnock. So glad he ended up at Carlton.
  17. We are going alright. I think we might smash this mob.
  18. They start pushing their agenda, which is a reaction from opposition supporters. They will get their reaction, they'll get it from opposition clubs, then the AFL will bend to their desires. The AFL have ruined MFC, no one wants to hear it, but it is true. All the AFL care about are GWS and GC, this is because Vlad is all about himself and his legacy. The sooner Vlad goes, the sooner the game improves.
