Watts still has A LOT of improvement in him. I think as he matures, his body will strengthen and he'll find a yard. Was a very good game today, one of Watts best games for the club I thought.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON
KingDingAling replied to angrydee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Salems TAC cup strike rate for BOG was better than any TAC player last year - and by some margin. It read like his best games were better than others - and he could do it on a more consistent basis. Throw in Salems blend of skills, precision, toughness and poise, we have a very unique and well rounded player. As for Dom Tyson, wow. I got rid of him out my supercoach thinking he'd slow, I thought he couldn't possibly keep it up - but he has gone to another level. Viney played super today as well. -
Paul Roos looking like a genius already. Damn Tyson is a gun, he is just the ultimate football, comparisons to Pendelbury are SPOT ON. Viney eases the workload on Nath Jones. What a win.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 9
KingDingAling replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wasn't too far off, good win by the lads. Richmond don't match up well against us. Great game by Tyson, Viney and Watts, all the sudden the future looks bright. -
VERY good article by Emma, that is a bit of vintage material, she's winding the clock back with this one. Good on you girl. I think it signals how well placed we are if Toumpas can become a player, not that all hinges on that - but we'd be well ahead with those trades. Gee we dodged a bullet offloading Scully. He just hasn't got it, I'd go as far to say, if Scully wasn't a left footer - he'd struggle to get a game. There is a romanticism about 'lefties' in the AFL, the way they move, such grace.. Tom Scully is anything graceful, he is rigid, robotic, rushed and one paced - flat out, no composure at all.

GWS player arrested on a raft of charges for assault
KingDingAling replied to jnrmac's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sounds like Greene needs to be back around his family. We are quick to forget that he is only a young man, I don't necessarily think he is a bad man - he just stuffed up on the grog. I've been violent myself in the past, one good leveler is always to get back in the family structure. I think in this instance, the 5 weeks is basically an indefinite suspension, the club won't play Greene until he works on his issues. Another incident and the kids trade value will drop significantly. From a club point of view, put him on the shelf. One would think atm, he'd be very short odds to return home. For the right price, I'd consider Greene, but I'd be hesitant to give away a top 10 pick. -
3 things.. Getting Viney at 26 was a massive win for us. Off loading Scully and getting generous compo, massive win for us. Dom Tyson/Salem trade, massive win for us. Those are 3 things that have gone right for us. Once Hogan performs, Viney tears it up and Salem shows how good he is, it will look like a great couple of years drafting. We didn't need a PP last year, I'd of taken it though. But our list is starting to look dangerous.

Bernie - 10th in comp. for metres gained
KingDingAling replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Vince has had a solid year, but needs to push harder. I think Bernie could be elite, so I might judge him harder than most. As a straight swap for Sylvia, we are miles ahead in this trade. -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 9
KingDingAling replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
We are a good thing this week, absolute morals. We'll win the ruck and chew up the contested ball, there is no one to stop us. Definitely match up better against the Tigers - than we do against the Bullies, and Adelaide. Providing we have Jamar in, teams with soft midfields will find it hard to beat us. Richmond have no contested ball winners, certainly none that will compete with Jones and Viney. Jamar will get first use, we'll get first crack at it and Cotchin won't get his usual numbers. We should tag Dustin Martin, because he is the only guy for the Tigers that could damage us. -
GWS player arrested on a raft of charges for assault
KingDingAling replied to jnrmac's topic in Melbourne Demons
Same. Looks like GWS have assumed that just because Scully trains hard, that he is a good leader. Tom Scully isn't a nice person, he only cares about himself and that isn't the type of person I'd want leading my club. The weaknesses in Scully's game have been there since he debuted, he is stagnant because he hasn't fixed them. Sometimes in order to fix our weaknesses, we need to suck in our ego and be honest to ourselves - two things beyond Tom Scully. -

Let's hope he assaulted Judas. -
I sum up speculative contracts by asking myself what I would do? In Hogan's case, I'd stay with Viney and good core group of talented lads - all around the same age. There would be more pressure on Hogan in Freo. At Melbourne, he is just one of many expected to do great things - so they all share that load.

Players to target at the end of the year
KingDingAling replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ryan O'Keefe would be a handy pick up. 36 touches on the weekend in the reserves. Apparently won't be getting his contract renewed at seasons end. His last year at the Swans, I think O'Keefe is good for another 2-3 after this year. A side consisting of O'Keefe and Cross is a pretty professional outfit. Good teachers. -
Players to target at the end of the year
KingDingAling replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope GWS cop beltings like that all year. Hopefully some players want out. Shiel has that physicality that we need. If they offered up Toby Greene, I wouldn't take him. Ordinary today. -
The official I love Dom Tyson thread
KingDingAling replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tyson would've been spent. Don't forget it is basically Dom's first year. GWS must surely be kicking themselves atm, I know Kelly is good.. But Tyson is looking sublime. -
Not much we can do about it, but pretty ordinary by the umps. Really annoyed the give Cooney free reign. For the life of me, I just do not rate him, even when he won the Brownlow he was a club BnF at best.
-
Yeah, that is it, learning... Patience and engaging in consistent actions - and I think we are doing that. 4 quarters worth of effort tonight, really impressive. We might've lost, but the improvement is there.
-
I'm not mad, we played really well.. Tyson, Viney, Salem, JKH.. All our young kids are tracking along beautifully. This year we are putting in A LOT of effort, that is all that matter. The scoreline doesn't matter, wins would be great, but this year we see effort and intent.. And dare I say - consistency.
-
I think we've done really well tonight, I cannot believe we've lost.
-
Not happy about this, I think we should be 6-7 goals up.
-
Matty Jones his own worst enemy, he could be VERY good Jones.
-
Crameri ran under the ball, so they reward him. Tom Williams earlier in the match kicked in danger, they rewarded him. When we win more, the umps will cut this rot out. For the time being, we are stuck with it.
-
Matt Jones was held without the ball and Cooney dropped the ball.
-
Salem, Tyson, JKH, Viney, Hogan to come.. GOOOO DEES.
-
Dom Tyson is off his head.
