I reckon it'll just give him even more reason to go out there and be explosive. I'm quietly hopeful he'll drag the rest of the team with him, but the last NAB match doesn't fill me with confidence.
-
Yep, protected species, up there with Selwood and Hodge.
-
Wonder how many frees the umps will gift Gary in his return game? I'm guessing at least 3,with 2 converted into goals.

Also note the carefully orchestrated media circus by the Murdoch press. Apparently, it's all over now! Gillon, Hird, Little, Jobe & the playing group and the AFLPA... every one of them painting a picture that this dark saga is finally over, and encouraging all fans to move on and get excited about football again. This drugs rubbish is over, folks! Perfectly painting the scene to make ASADA/WADA look quite the bad guys when they appeal, even though all they're trying to achieve is true justice for an illegal drugs program. Fans will be enraged at them for resurrecting the saga, especially after all the key parties have come out asking for us to move forward with our lives. Masterful manipulation of public sentiment by the AFL here. It staggers me that Essendon's company line continues to be the walking contradiction, "we have absolutely no idea what the players were given, but we know for a fact it wasn't illegal!" Do they actually take us for idiots? I'll bet they didn't provide a shred of evidence to this tribunal as to what ingredients were injected, either. It was a total coincidence that the dosages correlated perfectly with the recommended dosages for TB4. Yep, pure coincidence. Just ask yourself, why do so many of Essendon's actions since 2012 make absolutely no sense in the light of a non-guilty verdict? Self reporting a drugs program, rapidly turning over their player list, constantly delaying ASADA's case, endless appeals to suppress evidence and prevent SCN/IN's being issued, orchestrating an unprecedented anti-ASADA propaganda campaign in the Murdoch press, etc. BECAUSE THEY'RE GUILTY.
-
Funny how all the leaks in the immediate aftermath of the case pointed to very bad news for the players, then late last week all the pro-Essendon commentators began gleefully proclaiming that they expected a non-guilty verdict. This has been one large charade, and the AFL were pulling all the strings. They know ASADA/WADA can/will go above them to the CAS, but that will now paint them as the "bad guys" for dragging this on even further. Meanwhile, the AFL can rub their hands of it and say they let the players off, thus avoiding any scorn from the 'powerful' Essendon supporter base. Funny how many press conferences were ready to go almost immediately following the verdict. You're a fool if you think the key players here weren't entirely aware of the outcome long before today's hearing.

Yeah, he's a great coach and all... I'm glad we have him.... but his waffling on 360 is politician-like. He provides very little insight with his answers, just tarting up the plain-obvious with verbose vocabulary. Almost every social media comment about him has the same criticism. He talks a lot, but he says absolutely nothing.

Without inviting trouble for the forum owners, I will state my opinion that, having seen the escapades of one of the two accused in a Sydney club last year, the aforementioned speculation ticks multiple boxes for me. Much easier to get away with mischief in a city where nobody would recognize, nor care about, two small-time Collingwood players from a bar of soap.

Training - Friday 27th March, 2015
SaberFang replied to The Devil Inside's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wonder if we would've taken Cockatoo with pick 7. I reckon everyone skipped a gem there. [censored] Geelong, of all the teams. -
And right on the eve of 360's new season. All an obvious marketing strategy to create controversy IMHO.
-
Wonder how many slabs Robbo downed when he wrote up this list?
-
Geez, cringeworthy use of the Seven watermarked footage. We couldn't be bothered licensing our own game vision from the AFL? And the tacky Photoshop lens flare at the end? Yikes. Otherwise, pretty stock standard stuff.
-
Thanks as always 666, nothing but respect for how you bust your ass off at training for posters here.

Casey Scorpions v Williamstown @ Casey Fields

Geez it's refreshing to have a few draftees busting their ass for our club. No OMac today? -

Heeney looks set to debut round one for the Swans. Just saying. -
The club advertised a 12pm Labour Day training session, but nobody from the club turned up until about 1.30pm. On the day, they tweeted the session was actually at 1pm, but this was too late for many families who turned up at lunchtime. They also didn't want to spend money to set up a membership tent on the day, despite there being about 1,000 attendees to watch the training session.
-
Yep, Bucks and Roosy on Mondays. And my most disliked current player (other than one deserter from our club) at Essendrug has replaced Bob Murphy opposite Jordan Lewis. Will definitely be skipping Tuesday nights of 360 this year.
-
At least Roosy is back to speak some common sense into him. Not sure about Bomber's replacement though. Obviously Eddie's influence there.
-
But... but... Robbo said the story about the upset mother was a hoax!
-
Guess that's what happens when the administration of the league itself take such an embarrassingly corrupt, lackadaisical approach to the use of drugs in their sport.
-
Disgraceful. Why not earn some goodwill and get a few players to hand them out to the homeless on weekends? You seriously have to wonder about the people employed in admin.
-
Seriously? If Roos can't get this team into shape, nobody will. It's up to the players now. If they can't execute a premiership-winning gameplan because they aren't skilled enough, or simply lack the footy smarts to execute even the most basic decisions under pressure, that's on the players, not the coach.
-
Touk is a sensational player. I really wish we'd found a way to draft him. Can't wait to see him come out and star in his first match, against us no less.
-
Geez, can you blame them?? We've given them five years of games nobody attends, and neither broadcaster wants to broadcast. Surely the only thing working in our favour would be the low respect for Essendon. At least they have a healthy membership number!
-
Before I even opened this thread, I knew I'd find an asinine comparison like this after tonight's game. When did Collingwood last win a premiership? 5 YEARS AGO. When did Collingwood last play a grand final? 4 YEARS AGO. When did Collingwood last not play finals, before last year? 2005. When did Collingwood last finish in the bottom 5? 10 YEARS AGO. When did Collingwood last finish in the bottom 5 for EIGHT CONSECUTIVE YEARS? NEVER. When did Collingwood last have one of their best players leave the club each year? RHETORICAL QUESTION! Collingwood can afford to be half-arsed in practice matches, just as Port Adelaide and Hawthorn have. They can afford to stay in second gear and avoid injuries for the season proper, because they have a familiar coach and a familiar game plan, and winning cultures. None of those teams are even remotely fair comparisons to us, under a coach desperate to establish a winning culture. A coach who treated the NAB Challenge like Round 1, by picking his best 22 available players. We have no right nor luxury to be as brazen as last year's finalists after the last decade of mediocrity. If anyone from our club dared to excuse their poor performances by pointing to the losses of other, successful clubs' in the NAB Challenge it would be the most damning indictment of our playing list imaginable.
