Spot on. And I also find it disappointing that people are still sticking the knives into Neeld. Sure, he wasn't a good coach, and was duly sacked, but the club was embroiled in a 6 month "tanking investigation/witch hunt" during his tenure. Wouldn't have been easy for a first time coach. I won't be watching.

Woke up this morning and saw an IG post by Titus O'Reily that said "Heaven's scorecard. C: Marsh B: Warne." I was confused. Googled Shane Warne's name and WOW. In total shock. When he bowled it was must watch cricket.

All this based on a preseason game. How on earth could we afford to pay out Melksham under the salary cap? We shopped him around, no takers, so he remains. How many times have you seen Laurie play? He's a 2nd year player who got injured in a Covid affected season. How anyone can make an assessment of him is beyond me. You clearly have your biases against certain players, and nit pick whenever they don't have a good game.

Good to see there's a fair spattering of hyphenated surnames. -

I take this as your only statement of fact.

That's your opinion, but it's not one that's shared by our club captain. But carry on with your snide posts with no substance.

In essence, our offer isn't that much different from Freo's. Freo - $7m over 6 years + $200k x 1 year equates to $1.03m per year over 7 years = $7.2m Dees - $4.1m over 5 years. If his salary in years 6 and 7 increases to $1.3m = $6.7m But my question is, how do we fit an extra $500k into this years cap? Or will it be extrapolated over years 2-5.

The term "depth" is often overstated, but with our current list, we have legitimate depth in the backline. Tomlinson, Hunt and J. Smith have proven themselves at AFL level. To keep our current back 7 structure in place, I'd assume that Turner and Baker will play significant minutes. Looking forward to seeing how they go.

If Brayshaw leaves, his motivation will be money, not winning a Brownlow. In 2019, he played 22 games as an inside mid and got 0 Brownlow votes. In fact, aside from 2018 when he got 21 votes, he has polled a total of 1 vote. So let's stop this nonsense of Gus leaving to seek individual glory at another club.

So after 45 years of yelling out "Just kick it", the team has finally taken heed. But I agree with you. In times gone past it was considered taboo to kick it long to a contest. The gurus would tell us that you had to keep possession at all costs. Thankfully that seems to be a thing of the past.

To be fair, North were missing their 3 best mids in Cunnington, Simpkin and LDU. At full strength, North aren't that bad.
-
Very average. His defensive pressure acts are miles behind Spargo, Kozzie and ANB. And when there's a contested possession, he struggles to get off a clean disposal. I'd like to see Bedford and Laurie given a game in the next praccy.

From reading the training reports, Dunstan was doing additional running. His omission could be due to a minor injury, although that would have been reported. Or they could be preparing him for a particular role, and he hasn't reached those standards yet in match sim. Ben Brown was given a specific training regiment before his recall. Dunstan maybe in the same situation. -
Harmes is irrelevant to this discussion because he's probably on a relatively modest contract. Brayshaw has had his big payday, so if he wants to test the open market, you are prioritising Brayshaw against players coming out of contract who will definitely seek bigger deals.

Daisy is fantastic, but with BT calling, it still makes the Ch 7 Friday night games unbearable to watch unless you mute.

I think that getting Cerra was dependant on finding a home for Melksham, and probably not re-signing Hibberd.
-
Spot on. He was great in the GF but didn't finish top 10 in the BnF. I'd imagine that he was well paid after his 2018 season, so there are more valuable players that should be financially looked after. I doubt that he leaves, especially to move interstate, when his parents and girlfriend are in Melbourne. I wouldn't read too much into this headline.

I'm not against holding events in regional centres where existing facilities exist, but let's not build some monstrosity of a facility that's rarely used by the general public. I'm talking about the baseball centre in Laverton and the harness racing facility in Melton. There's no reason why regional centres can't hold events such as lawn bowls, T20 cricket, cycling (road race, time trial, mountain bike), but we have existing facilities within the CBD precinct to hold all the other events.

I've heard Gus and Gawny talk about the golfers at the club. From what I recall, Hunt is off 1, May 6 and a few others are lower than Gus.

Distant relative. Laurie was Lily's grandfather's cousin.

It's on there now.

The thought of an inner suburban council removing trees is inconceivable. You'd have to get the bolt cutters out first to cut the chains off the protesters.
