  1. Richmond will beat West Coast. WC are silent, but they are rolling into St Petersburg.
  2. I think he was pipped by Cameron Bruce for 'Most Deplorable Shot at Goal' yesterday.
  3. Fantastic write up as usual WJ. Didn't unravel the Fairfax press this morning but will happily read Demonland journalism any day of the week. Much appreciated. Well done you and Col.
  4. Colin Sylvia's debut anyone? Dean Polo, Andrew Walker, etc. Debuts do not mean Jack.
  5. Spot on Rhino Richards.
  6. Josh Fraser continually being loose killed me the most. Cale Morton trapped in a back pocket was very frustrating.
  7. Cheney seems to be courageous. Davey never stops taking the game on, as does Col, and sometimes they get caught but good on them anyway. PJ, Bell can go back to where they belong. I won't feel bad jettisoning our senior players after seeing how completely ineffectual they were on our most important day in the H&A fixture.
  8. How was Jones a culprit? Getting caught with the ball, shoddy disposal, including him kicking a high floater across goal in the defensive 50 to Bell (3rd quarter I think) which was so poor it was turned over and came back for a goal. Maybe I am being harsh on him but I believe he was poor. Bate did one good thing for the day, dribbled one home from 55 out, but only after someone got the ball for him. When the game was 'alive' (although it never really was), he fumbled and failed with his hands and head time after time.
  9. The culprits today from my point of view were Whelan, PJ, Bate, Bruce and Jones. Only Jones of those 5 will be around in the future and he is still a NQR.
  10. My dear old grandfather has much more sense than most of the posters on this forum. As he said today, McDonald was given the captaincy for his last year, this year. His spot, and contribution to the MFC, should continue to be respected for the last 11 games of his career.
  11. And while we're at it, get rid of that Bohdan [censored] who causes all our injuries!
  12. Reminds me of the story of the famous story of the extraordinary trumpet player Wynton Marsalis. Wynton's trumpet teacher was perplexed at how slow Wynton learned compared to the rest of the students. Young Wynton would take longer to learn things, and spent an alarming amount of time practicing basic elements, again and again. As time went buy, the rest of the students plateaued, and little Wynton slowly but steadily closed the gap between him and the rest of the players. His rock-solid fundamentals help him form an incredible basis for tone, technique and technicality. Wynton's improvement was much slower, his gradient much lower, but eventually he overtook the other students and kept going and going to become the greatest. And no-one remembers the names of any of the other trumpet players.
  13. Never take pleasure in dropping players, although this week I make an exception to drop Bate and Johnson with absolute glee. IN: Bennell, Martin, Miller OUT: Bate, Bell, PJ
  14. "If irony was made of strawberries, we'd all be having smoothies right now."
  15. I loved early on when someone had the ball on the far wing, and LJ sprinted past the camera into the forward-line, going one million km/h. Absolute jet.
  16. Miller looks like a footballer and Newton doesn't. At the moment, they are both working very hard without the ball. End of the day, neither of them cut it at team #16. They'll both be gone in 2 years.
  17. I think of all 16 AFL coaches we have the best media performer. Very respectable man.
  18. I'm glad that it was finally communicated to him that no-one has any respect for him.
  19. Newton looks like he's turned the corner, never stops trying, presents well, finds space, does the team things and displays footy smarts. 'Looks like'.
  20. Quite the fisherman.
  21. We're obviously not as smart as Stef because of all the time we waste on Demonland . . . And re: Maric, at this stage I'd prefer to have Bennell/Cheney in than Maric, his disposal is lovely but his impact on games isn't (yet).
  22. I spent a similar time studying for VCE and also got in the top 1%, and that doesn't mean squat either! because uni exams/assignments are much harder and more time considering, particularly if you've matured sufficiently to try your hardest.
  23. Maybe we dropped Martin because Collingwood have the 2nd smallest forward line in the league? Well done to Dean Bailey for having the courage to scrape the barnacles off Daniher's ship (Miller, Robertson, Yze last year). Also, Stefan Martin would have the most exam action at the moment of anyone else. . . Reckon A. Maric is going to be the odd one out.
  24. They would not bring Watts in without bringing Robbo in, as the Magpies have a good underrated defence and this helps JW get an easier class of defender. If RR plays, JW will get the 2nd or 3rd defender, instead of the 1st or 2nd. Jurrah is not ready and does not have the X/media/no.1 factor that is the main reason Watts was brought in. Thus the extended squad will include the names Cheney, Watts, Robertson, and if McDonald is injured, then I think that our final Outs will be McDonald, Martin, for Watts and Robertson. Whelan will stay in because the game is on a huge stage.
  25. Craigieburn Primary just quarantined the one year level affected. Exams of VCE will not be affected.
