I think you should acknowledge that Paul Johnson, since the Collingwood game (and probably before that), actually costs us 1-2 goals a game through direct turnovers near goal. Jamar does not touch the ball much and this is a bonus compared to PJ's adverse disposal. Johnson tends to call for the ball a lot out of kick-ins, I'd prefer Grimes and Benell etc to have it in this dangerous area instead of the earnest, incompetent plodder that is PJ.

They are both going to be very good. WC develops it's young players fantastically. I hope threads like these do not become an epidemic.

It's taken me one and a half years to conclude that something is wrong with Bailey's game plan definitively, but now I believe it. Bailey's 'fit player into gameplan' vs Knights' 'fit gameplan onto player' is a pretty depressing comparison.

One passage of play in the 2nd quarter on the half-forward flank was pretty encouraging and no surprise it was lost on so many. JW got the ball, evaded, sized up his options and delivered to an MFC player (Jurrah maybe). He looked as if he was moving slowly, but he wasn't. He was graceful, poised and smart, and I thought it was great to see. But it's Demonland so let's all talk about Davey running him down.

I was surprised to find that I have real confidence in only half of our team from last night (Group 3 and 5 respectively). For the rest I have hope only. One scary thing is IMO opinion we only have 6 quality senior players, and of those 6, 2 are too slow (McLean and Rivers). Only McLean and Moloney are genuine midfielders too. Not every premiership player is going to be quality, but at this stage, we need our Blease, Strauss, Scully, Lucas, and we need them badly. Our ruck is a shambles too and our HF line (Bate/Robbo/Miller) is absolutely terrible, I think it's far worse than our midfield.

I thought Moloney was great, Sylvia was good, and the rest, including ruck, were NQR.

The first quarter was the most obvious display of tanking I've ever seen.
