  1. We lost that Toigs game in the 2nd quarter. They outscored us by 24 points (0.1 to 4.1) and the final margin was 27 points. Contrast that with the Dogs losses: 52 to the Pies, 39 to the Saints, 52 to the Blues, 41 to the Toigs and 24 to the Loins. They're still to play the Cats and Eagles.
  2. Gold Coast area Mostly sunny. Areas of dust haze during the morning and afternoon. Winds northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h turning westerly 25 to 30 km/h in the morning then increasing to 30 to 45 km/h in the middle of the day. 45km/h is a '2 club wind'.
  3. It was Preuss's first game (round 4 last year) and he booted 2.0. Followed it up against the Saints the next week with 2.0. Preuss then didn't play until later in the season, not booting another goal. I much prefer Preuss to TMac. The latter gives us nothing in the ruck. I thought Preuss did OK, halving many of the contests with the second best ruckman in the league. Brayden for Max, the only change IMO.
  4. HB appears reluctant to lay a tackle. I suspect tackle pressure is what the FD love about Spargo. Sparrow improving each week. A keeper.
  5. Make a tough match-up for the Dogs. Rest the big men forward and Fritta goes to the wing. Won't happen. Bont and Daniel are the keys to the Dogs. Hold one or both and you're halfway to a win.
  6. Am I right saying he is equally adapt on either side?
  7. Doing to be difficult for the likes of Hannan, Hunt, Rivers and Bennell to get a spot. IMO Tomlinson may be lucky to hold his spot altho' the Dogs are a tall side.
  8. Two legs of my 6 same game multi in.
  9. Talk of TMac moving to the back line is simply pointless. It will never happen. We've given up, in effect, three first round draft picks to get Lever and May. We have Tomlinson who could play as a tall backman. The FD like Omac. Last point: Tmac hasn't played on the back line for, at least, 4 years.
  10. No chance of Spargo being dropped. AVB similarly unlikely.
  11. Agree that Hunt was disappointing in his 3 appearances this year albeit 3 goals v the Blues. However he did kick 21.10 with 18 GA's in his 21 games last year. Offers more than Spargs IMO.
  12. Like all DL'ers I have NFI what the FD see in Charlie. 27 games averaging less than one goal and one goal assist per game.
  13. Hopefully we won't see the clips of Gus sitting despondently on the bench for long periods. Weid and LJ to take advantage of Gus's delivery into the forward 50. Has to be Sparg's last chance with Bennell, Bedford, JJ, Hannan, Chandler and even Hunt capable of taking his place.
  14. "... The Roos spearhead limped off with help from trainers after he landed awkwardly after being tackled by Cats defender Mark Blicavs. Brown had his left knee heavily strapped and despite initial reports he would play on he has been ruled out of the remainder of the match. ..."
  15. Will not happen for two reasons: the backline is travelling OK partic since OMac has returned TMac has been played as a forward for more than 2 years. No way will he be switched mid-season
  16. No 'urgency' from Brayshaw. I haven't heard Goodwin explain why he spends so much time off the ground. Game has gone past Nev. Out: Jetta, Brayshaw In: Rivers, Sparrow Lucky: Lockhart (possible replacement: Hunt) Jackson and Kosi must stay
  17. Neale 166 games 87:58, Adam Treloar also 166 games 96:84. Clarry 88 games 26:20. Trac 91 games 85:56 and has maintained his average since playing more mid-field (6 games for 6 goals)
  18. I'm getting nervous thinking what Charlie Cameron could do to us. I'm not sure Salem or Hibberd have the pace. I know Hunt's form is down but I'd be tempted to play him or Rivers to 'wear' Cameron. Another option would be Werridee's line up but swapping Harmes and Salem.
  19. Turn the bloody music down
  20. Agree. I seem to recall Big Boy at the least halving the contests with Max in the past. Having said that there is an element of robbing Peter to pay Paul in that, from all reports, McEvoy has been doing alright in the back line. Without TMac the last thing we would have wanted is the Hawks having another tall intercept marker.
  21. Occasionally May feigned that he intended to kick it to the right only to kick left and close to the boundary line. For goodness sake, let's mix it up and even try the long bomb down the guts once or twice a game.
  22. Weid, Oscar and Harley justified their inclusion. I can't say that about Nev. More than once he flew for the ball against one or two team mates. I know we need some continuity in selection but I'd be tempted to drop Nev before Lockhart.
  23. My 5 leg multi gets up. $120 for $10 outlay.
  24. Bennell kicks this and I win $100
