NON MFC: Round 4
From the HUN: "...Naughton missed four weeks in 2018 with a left ankle problem, and could be facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines, as the Bulldogs face an anxious wait for scans...."

Where are we at?
I don't think I'm a 'Goodwin basher', but geez, after the Hawks win last Thursday I love Clarkson in charge of our list. Reckon we'd have a flag inside 3 years.

Intra-Club Game: Round 3
I don't think you can blame the Yanks on this occasion.
- POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Carlton
-
TEAM: Rd 02 vs Carlton
Agree. Appears lackadaisical even lazy waiting for the outlet handpass. Not sure how he's going to regain his 2018 form. If we have an over supply of in and under players then either HF or run-with role.

MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
My mate (an avid Crows supporter) taught Tom a few years ago. Rates him very highly. One to watch.
-
CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
Harmes on Cripps - spotting him 10cm but agree he's our best option. Leaves them to find a match for Oliver. Doubt Brayshaw will play on Wing. Tomlinson and Langdon brought to the club specifically to release the likes of Gus. Gus half forward for a while? Can kick goals from 50+. I'd think Jetta on Betts. Geez, Nev had better improve on round one effort.

Big Footy in strife?
Report on Nine News. Didn't quite get the gist of what happened. A data leak of some description?
-
CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
Jetta handed Eagles 2 goals early. Handballed straight to Sheed who put it through from 30m. Ryan goaled (Jetta's man? - maybe Harmes) 2 minutes earlier. No way Harmes should play back.

The New Royal Blue Training Jumper
Yeah ...... nah. A re-launch of blue M&M's?
-
CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
I think I remember him. Doubt we'll see him this year unless the VFL cranks up.
-
CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
I didn't think he was too bad. Only the 8 disposals but wasn't overawed by the occasion. Would be more confident second up and at 'home'.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
Could someone please remind me again of the connection between Clint Stanaway and the Dees* (has his dad been a trainer)? Another 'club promo' on nine news tonight. We're certainly getting our fair share of publicity.

Millionaire Ex-Demon
Some positive news for Joel's company Getswift (from the Age 22/5/2020: https://www.theage.com.au/business/companies/former-afl-player-s-getswift-makes-comeback-with-revenue-boost-20200513-p54sfp.htm "The gyrations of Australia's tech stocks over recent months has hidden a remarkable comeback by one of its former darlings, last-mile logistics provider Getswift. The stock has soared to a multi-year high of 90¢ this month. This is the highest it has traded since the disastrous share price crash in February 2018 which followed the company's confirmation that fewer than half the contracts it had been publicising were actually generating any revenue. The 500 per cent gain since May last year represents a remarkable comeback for the company which was started by former AFL footballer Joel Macdonald to work out the best routes for his booze delivery service...."

3 weeks away
I'd be tempted to play Petty at CHF and TMac at FF. Don't reckon we can afford to have Weid, TMac and for that matter Omac all on the park. A dozen disposals between the three (given TMac's form slump) could be on the cards. The small Marvel ground (fair chance that's where we'll be) may even suit Tom.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
From the HUN: Harley Bennell poised to push for AFL selection at Melbourne after making progress in recovery https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/harley-bennell-poised-to-push-for-afl-selection-at-melbourne-after-making-progress-in-recovery/news-story/304c64c75ee8d44e011b909905820ccc Paywall protected I guess. Brief article. "The Melbourne recruit cut a striking figure on Saturday as he trained with former Gold Coast teammate Luke Russell at Gosch’s Paddock. He is understood to be happy with the way he’s tracking after years of well-documented soft tissue injuries. ......... “He’s doing a lot of his running program, getting some really good load in so there’s a really good chance he’ll rejoin the group when we come back into training and train with us, and be available for selection after the first few weeks. “That’s an exciting thing for us.”

Training is Back from Midnight Tuesday
From the AFL website: ' ... As a result, the AFL's hopes of announcing a 'return to training' date on Thursday – ideally as early as next week – will be delayed. ...' The reason is that the AFL wants an even playing field and until WA and SA clubs have a 'home' no club will be able to start training 'as a team'.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Just pointing out that this thread is about Harley - not our game plan etc.

Obscure Ex-Demons
With the Queen's birthday (April 21) coming up, it would be remiss to leave out Scott Chisholm, who is (according to Scott) related to the British Royal Family. Excuse me if the Prince has already been listed.
-
Obscure Ex-Demons
My nomination also. Played on regardless of the number of opposition players around him. Had a day out at Princess Park one day. A collective grunt, grunt, grunt went up every time he got the ball. Have an idea that he missed the '87 prelim with injury and would have been a chance to replace Robbie had we made it through {?}.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
Re the free kick differential (which may be less without their rabid fans): “Since the start of 2011, in matches at home against interstate sides, the Eagles have lost the free kick count in 12 of 72 matches. “They’ve won 60 of 72 free kick counts against any other side other than Fremantle at home.

Injury List 2020
Sorry, Toby and Weid rolled ankles. Weid's looked awful.I thought they said AVB was bruised foot.
-
Injury List 2020
Channel 9 news showed Toby, AVB and Weid all on crutches. Latter two rolled ankles. Weid looked worse than Toby. Thought it was said that Aaron would be sent for a scan.

Two Spots Left in Final Eight
Dogs have to be in the eight. 13 games at Docklands where they'll win at least 10. Only have to win 4 of their other 9. They'll beat the Suns in Ballarat and us at the 'G.
