YEP, I forgot the celt.

We need Rivers, Whelan, Holland ins.

Outs - Green, Wheatley & anyone else who won't contest the footy, or put their head down over the ball.

Holland has some sort of problem with the tin tack. Firstly it was reported as a quad but later amended so who knows. Won't play.

Leave the team unchanged, except Davies if he is unfit. let them all know this is there crunch game, do you want to play for Melbourne or not. Then next week drop anyone who does not follow the game plan etc. PS no point putting the kids to the sword at Geelong.

Why not? They got to see quality players leading the way somewhere! you learn a lot from games like this

I hope not, I'd rather see another kid like Maric come in for weetra, he has show so little, i have not even seen anything that makes me think we will make it as a afl footballer.

I think he'll be OK.

It's difficult for a new kid when the team is going so poorly, he seems to have an instinct to do the right things, but isn't shining just yet.

Garland will not get dropped before Weetra, Garland find the ball, Weetra has just about never touched it.

FB: Whelan Carroll Bell

HB: Petterd Rivers Frawley

C: Moloney Jones Morton

HF: Sylvia Newton Bruce

FF: Green Neitz Bate

Foll: Johnson McLean McDonald

Int: White Bartram Dunn Maric/Buckley

IN: Frawley, Rivers and Whelan(if fit)/Moloney

Out: Weetra, Davey (inj.), Bode

Against Geelong we will need to play talls especially mobile atheltic talls such as Frawley, Rivers and Garland (remains for this reason), Whelan should play if he is fit and same with Moloney.

Moloney and Petterd didn't play at Sandy they wont come in this week. Garland and Weetra have to be dropped with Davey injuried. In Rivers, Maric, Whelan

Match ups

Bartram-Ablett

Whelan-Chapman

Rivers-Mooney

Bell-Johnson

Line up

Whelan Carroll Bell

Bartram Rivers Wheatley

Morton Mclean Bruce

Green Miller Sylvia

Maric Neitz Robertson

White McDonald Jones

PJ, Dunn, Bode, Buckley

Interchange From: Brett Lovett, Jeff Farmer, Peter Vardy, Rod Owen, Allan Jackovitch & Gary Hardeman.

BB - THat Interchange bench would be heaven.

Brett Lovett - Was simply unpassable on the half back line

The Wizard - Electrifying @ his best

Vardy - Mercurial. Who will ever forget that last quarter V Freo in the rain. Loved September.

Rod Owen - Only had him briefly but was exciting until he did his knee.

Jacko - Most exciteing player I have ever seen. Capable of anything. What a waste he was cut down.

Hardemann - To this day we have never replaced him at CHB.

Those where the day's.

If we make some serious hard calls @ seasons end the Sun will shine once more @ The MFC.

on a serious note

IN: should be Rivers Moloney (if fit) Yze and Chris Johnson

Out: Bode, Garland and Weetra and of course Davey appears to be injured.

I think its too early to give up on the season so get Yze in there and see if he can turn his form around. When its round 15 then drop the old blokes and hand things over to the kids.

Also Chris Johnson needs to be tried...surly its his last year if he can not perform. lets put him in and give him a final chance to string some games. Bode weetra Garland need more time to develop. They arnt ready..

Maric has had a stellar start to the year with Sandy, but he is still only 76kgs dripping wet. I think the kid will be a superstar, but I'd hate to think we stalled his confidence and development by giving him a run in the seniors when he is not physically ready. His footy brain will never leave him, needs to get his body right first.

Garland stays in because I don't tend to give up on tall, athletic players after 3 outings.

Agree

How would you like to be an under 10 game player in our backline currently, with us calling for blood every time a goal is kicked because someone in our forward line didn't put any pressure on the person running the ball out, which bounced twice before it ricoched off Neitz's chest.

Give the poor kid a chance; what's the worst that can happen! We lose against Geelong?

Throw em all in.

That young guy with Richmond, King is only 74kgs and he is as tough as nails.

Think he was BOG last week or the week before.

I just watched a video on mfctv on the mfc site with rivers interviewing buckley.

Great bloke buckley is!

Rivers hinted at the end he would be back for sure this week so good news that is.

Hopefully Bucks has a blinda against the cats cause he was one of the best against them in the NAB

yeah...but what about the footy ?? :lol::rolleyes: :D ( I'll go now )

Do you think we are tough enough to take on the cats?

And in true Melbourne fashion - none of his team mates went in to even up :D

The girl has accepted a 2 match ban and 75 demerit points on account of it being a first offence.

if she was adam goodes she would have only gotten a reprimand no matter how many priors she had...

I'm sorry but I had to bring that photo up again.

OH MY GOD :o:lol:

Get that girl on the phone, she's playing CHB this weekend!

I agree. Keep the changes to a minimum as we will loose no matter whoever plays.

Bring players in for Kangaroos and Carlton following two weeks at MCG

This will give more confidence to incoming players

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
