Nathan Carroll was the only player that acted out, on-field, what I wanted done from the stands. Nathan Jones had made a blue and had some Bulldog (think it was Hahn) in his face big-time. Carroll was ferocious in his efforts to support Jones. He shook the Bulldog like a rag doll and landed 8 of the best, rapid-fire jumper punches I have ever witnessed, with the result that said Bulldog was left cowering and looking for a hole to crawl into. On top of this Carroll played one of his best games for the MFC. Posters who make inane comments about his lack of skill, lack of pace, or lack of football smarts are so far off the mark they should be dismissed as insignificant light-weights. When given support in defence Carroll will establish himself as one of the best back-line pick-ups we have been fortunate enough to snare. He is an excellent pack-mark, he is aggressive and he puts his body on the line time and time again for his team-mates. He is clever enough to give away very few frees, even in this age of tiggy-touch-wood, one-on-one, umpiring atrocities. He deserves our admiration in this our darkest hour!

i got stuck into Carroll last week.. and im sorry, he was by far our best player yesterday. Good job Chopper.

Agreed.......you can give be disappointed over his couple of off field misdemeanors, but on field he is having a crack each week, and if I was him or Daniel Bell, I would want to unload on my teammates for the lack of support they are getting from up the ground in the first 2 weeks.

I remember distinctly in the Hawks game up the Punt Rd end when Carroll backed into a pack with 3 other players and got absolutely clobbered, and I thought at least he is putting his body on the line and having a dip, and that's all I can ask as a supporter!

He's good and underrated. You always need a player like him in your team. Won't win games off his boot, but has the drive and dedication to succeed. He never puts in less then 110%.

top post, agree entirely. not sure about his pre-match roughing up tactics, but when the siren goes i always feel he's giving 100%, basically because he knows he has to.

I just wish the rest of the team felt that same necessity

Carroll was just about the only Demon who could hold his head high yesterday, clearly our best. Ultimately though, he'd ideally be a third tall option for Melbourne.

Agree. Made this comment last week. However, he plays with courage and determination. Definitely a beacon of light over the last 2 weeks.
