I couldn't make it last week as I was away for Easter, but I hoped to hell that win lose or draw that they'd have a red hot go. They didn't. If anyone can tell me that the boys were manic in their desperation I'd be amazed.

That said, Eric, one sticks with their team more than ever in times like this. The players come and go, but our passion must never waiver as long as we have single minded people at the helm who are only concerned at winning flags. I'll back Bailey, Connolly, etc as they need our support.

Because then nobody will. And that would be worse than anything.

These guys have no passion.

My son was down the park tonight pretending he was Brock McLean.

I really feel the need to apoligise to him creating him as a Demon fan.

MFC is a passion of mine, but something is not right on the ground.

The MFC has lost direction as a business and is the AFL'S basket case but why the players don't care I believe is another matter.

What I don't know.

No argument H.

97 was as traumatic as 98 was euphoric.

Times will change.

I see the 08 list as much better than the 97 list except the passion.

I wanted Sheedy. We goy Bailey. We now have what we have.

Lets hope it gets better.

Go Dees.

Eric - I also must apologise to my 13 year old son for getting him onboard this Demon heartache Train

If your son must pretend to be someone @ the park dont let him model himself on a

disinterested, alcohlic ,slow moving, angry hoon.

Put a No. 10 on his back now. That kid just might inspire a generation of Demon Supporters.

PS: Brock turn it around & I'll be the first to apologise.

Totally agreed H.

I started following MFC in about 1967. No pne apologised to me for the crap they rolled out for 20 years and more until I saw them in the finals. Lets get over it and get behind DB and co.

FWIW, they have dished up worse in the past. However the last two weeks have plumbed the depths. And there will be more pain to come.

MFC has lost direction as a business... you've been believing the papers, haven't you?

Let me tell you something, each time I read one of these idiot articles about how we're supposedly crumbling to dust, I actually get a little more confident, despite how annoying they are. These articles are so off the mark it's laughable - compared to five years ago we're full of direction and making good ground. And we came out of that hole, anyway, so why should anyone think we're not going to strengthen.

I'll say it again, I think it's gonna be my new motto.

Harden up, people.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
