On the captaincy

The only reason I don't think Neitz should be captain is due to the fact that I can forsee him only playing 8-10 games next year as the old bloke is so injury prone these days.

Therefore we'd end having Green, Bruce and McLean sharing the duties every other week.

I actually wouldn't mind Bruce taking it on. Might fix his kicking

Unfortunetly McLean stuffed up his chances in Europe, as he would've been my first choice.

I really don't think he stuffed up his chances. Of course, I'm accepting the official version, so call me naive but it didn't seem to be that big a deal.

As soon as he is awarded the capataincy it would be washed away - a vote of confidence in him - unless he gets himself into more problems in the future.

Neitz will be captain obviously, if he wants it..... But if the great man doesn't feel he can do the job then there is only one man who can!

Give it to Daniel Bell.....

(Sits back and waits for the storm to begin)

That's not an entirely stupid idea. Belly had a very solid year. He is an approachable guy, his courage on and off the field (ie. how he dealt with the death of his best mate) cannot be denied, and he has seemingly cemented his place in the 22. He wouldn't be my number 1 choice, but he's not far off.

Personally, I'd like to see Jared Rivers get the captaincy. He is close to our MVP and he has really grown in stature over the past few years.

If not Jared, then it would have to be McLean IMO.

sorry i thought this was a forum. there was no swearing or racism etc in what i said. i just don't like neitz. i am aloud to say that u know

Personally I think you have too many dislikes in this team to be a true fan, however, you are entitled to your opinion. Would you mind giving us some pretty good reasons why you "hate" David Neitz. Most think he has been a darn good Captain and player who has the respect of his team mates. Have you ever met him?? What exactly do you dislike and hopefully you can back it up with facts and not bulldust.

Not to mention a downright bona-fide historical legend of the Melbourne Footy Club, All-Australian and Coleman medallist

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
