Demons will get Cousins in the PSD

Mark my words, Cousins is finished at West Coast

He will go to the Demons in the PSD

The Tigers will not take him, and obviously the Blues wont cos they have Judd (well potentially anyway)

So that leaves Cousins to us. A massive coup. He is the fittest player in the comp, and still one of the best 5 players in the land

Missing out on Judd is the best thing to happen top the MFC. In the end, the amazing chain events will land us Ben Cousins AND Trent Cotchin

Yeah, and whats more, now that he's decreed it, its almost a lay-down misere...

... that it won't happen.

as i said before, i have a source (independent to yze_magics) that confirmed cousins is gone, and most likely will be bakc in the old USA next week...

whether he goes preseason draft or just retires i havnt heard. and whether we take him or not is another issue. but i doubt he will be at WCE next year...

I hope so Deanox... I would love to get him, but I just get the impression he's lost his passion for the game. You wouldn't have thought so after his comeback this year, but I think the Mainwaring thing will have him absolutely devastated. I think theres a good chance he'll retire.

Do we really want Ben Cousins if the Eagles are willing to let him walk for nothing?

He has some serious issues, which while they may not affect his on-field ability, they certainly impact his off-field life.

I don't think that I would be happy to have the influence of Ben Cousins around. He is clearly more trouble than he is worth, if he is indeed being given the boot.

It will be a very very big risk, which given our president's strong stand on drugs, I can't see us taking.

Ooo. Forgot about that. Massive sticking point right there. But unless he's thick as two bricks, I'm sure Gardner could find a way to put a positive spin on it... like... "Taking him under our wing, out of the fishbowl, and letting him sort himself out, etc."

But yes, I would still want him. He is a brilliant footballer, and if some of our blokes would bust their guts half as much as him, it would go a long way to making us a better side.

yeah i'd take cousins....

especailly taking him away from W.A hehe..where all the business goes on

yep ....we could find him a town house near King St !!

out of the frying pan and into the fire !!

Totally agree jaded.

Does anyone think to consider where Cousins mind is at and whether he is motivated to play for Vic Club? Or he one of those plug n play toys?

I don't want Coke heads at my club. Go knows we probably already have enough...

lets Cuz go to the Doggies...they seem to be chasing every player not tied down!!

I reckon if Cousins retires from football now, his life is in a bit of danger. I think if I was his family I'd want him to continue playing footy. Just my opinion.

There is know way that i want cousins at melburne...... with the amount of [censored] i have given eagles supporters because of his drug addiction i would cop it big time. Good role model on the field, terrible off the field.

though he would add a lot of speed to the midfield.

read last paragraphs and you get the impression Cuz aint going anywhere !!

still, this is footy !! lol

""We are interested in Josh. He's the poor player that has been bandied around and he signed a new contract earlier this year and he may not necessarily want to come home."

from the above article. if he has already signed a contract this year,, cant he not be traded?

He can - but only if he agrees.

goodvibes, you have to agree all the time (ie you can never just be traded without accepting) don't you?

otherwise we could trade bruce this year...

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
