Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This doesnt look 2 good

I knew the picture wouldn't be pretty and seeing it on the night was bad enough... why I opened the file to have a closer look, I'll never know.

Poor Dutchy, that looks like the most painful injury I've seen since Brown broke his leg :(

Incidentally, was breaking Dutchy's shoulder Rocca's only possession for the night?

I shocked my mates by laughing when i saw it, now i know that sounds bad but ive dislocated both shoulders and the second time i did my right it looked as bad as bens and i couldnt stop the laugh come out, not sure if it was a nervous thing or whatever, but i hope benny can make a full recovery and hopefully there is not structual damage.

Comments like this need some sort of explanation........................................................

............................................................ otherwise they will just be considered DUMB.

I accept your point of view, I don't agree with it, but how about some reasons!!!!!

GO DEES - Onward and Upward

Holland is a horses for courses type player. Yes he does a good job when he comes in. However...

He can only play on one type of player in defence. Gorilla forward. Therefore he is limited.

He not one of our best forwards (despite the Sydney, Bulldogs games). If we are to improve Bate, Dunn and Newton need to be selected in key forward posts. Add Neitz and Robertson to that list and all of a sudden Holland is sixth in line. For a bloke who is the wrong side of 30 it is not enough.

I love Benny but it is time to go.

Anthony Rocca is not a good enough player to require his own 'match-up' on our list.

Hope that is enough explanation Toad.

Poor Benny is so maligned. He can fill in in defence, up forward, take a throw in, very strong, takes a good grab, can kick some goals, quite smart, can be very hard to match or can take the guy that’s hard to match and he helps out the other blokes. He fills in as an alternate prong up forward very well and I think is about our 5th best goal scorer when on the forward line. And now perhaps only ½ his payments may count for the cap. And he seems a really good bloke too. I know he’s not that fast and he can kick some shockers but overall he can be very affective. Some people rave about other players, not because they are good but because they show some potential. I reckon he’s much better value than some of the guys we keep playing. And I reckon Godfrey is much better than some say as well. As someone else pointed out, Godfrey could have given us a winning edge on Friday if we had that little bit more grit in the packs.

i'd keep a guy like holland for another year based on the way he can play both ends of the ground reasonably effectively, and at times very well.

i think he'd also serve as a good mentor and role model to the young players up and coming, to see the results hard work can have.

finally, i'd hate to see the same injury end two brother's careers!

And the players you have mentioned are just the tall forwards. Then you go to Davey, Sylvia, Yze, and others.

I also think Carroll's ability to play on the gorillas is underrated. There are only two of them IMO, Gehrig and Rocca (maybe Lynch), and Carroll's record against them is pretty decent. He was certainly very good on Rocca after Holland went off Friday night. Players like Pavlich and Brown have gorilla size but are quick with endurance.

In summary, it's sad his career would end this way, but he shouldn't be on the list next year.

Davey - hamstring

with davey's speed, and the fact that he has injured his hamstring before, i think bohdan can get the benefit of the doubt with this one.

one black mark in my opinion however is that we are simply not as fit as we should be, or as fit as we were last year. i am yet to see 'gut-busting' running, save for the effort the boys put in when we were undermanned on friday.

Two out of Biz, Ferguson, Holland and Warnock will go, Biz is a dead certainty to go, Warnock is struggling at Sandy and Ferguson looked OK last night. Holland although good isn't getting any younger and a shoulder to a big man could be the end.

Thats correct....

Three of these 5 (Inc Miller) will go. On recent form and ability Biz and Holland should stay. Fergo and Warnock are hopeless..... Biz is the scapegoat. the bloke can still play and reads the ball as good as Rivers.....

What will hapen???? Well Bizz will unforunetly go and hopefully Fergo and Warnock....Miller and Dutch to get 1 year deals.

Big Dutchy always tries hard, he doesnt have the skills of course but hes a battler and does handle the big blokes well.. And as we saw in the Dogs game hes ability to go forward and kick goals isnt over yet. Also against the Swans in Canberra a few weeks ago Ben had a brief stint in the ruck where i thought he was our best player.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
