I am pretty sure they will have a chat with him....

The bloke has potential to be a good coach one day, but I would assume they would be looking at him for an assistants role, rather than the head coaching position in 2008...

Viney working under a bloke like Sheedy would be fantastic for his future coaching aspirations!

Yeah ive been thinking maybe a sheedy for few years handover to Viney But I just don't see the Melbourne board having the brain to think about it.

Either that or you're the one hasn't got a brain because you have thought about it.

Think its a bad idea?

I don't have an opinion on the matter one way or another. What I do think is a bad idea though is assuming the club are stupid because they didn't think of it.

If you thought of it, there's two likely possibilities:

- They did too and ruled it out as a possibility for whatever reason

- They didn't bother because it's not a practical, reasonable or good solution

It's very unlikely that most of the possibilities haven't occured to them.

Pet peeve of mine when people sling mud at the club from the outer when in reality they have little to no idea what the brains trust are really thinking.

cos as long as he is a great player he'll be a good coach????

whats your reasoning?

I would have thought my disclaimer "no idea what he is like as a coach", would have made it clear i have no idea if he'll be a good coach or not

was merely stating, if the board do happen to select him, i'd be estatic having him back at the club

Happens because the board has stuffed up COUNTLESS times. Don't try and be high and mighty like you know everything. I merely stated a point of view that I think our clubs admin and board have made alot of mistakes. You can have your opinion but don't talk about your pet peeves. You know as much as everyone else and im sure you have opinions people don't like so get over your pet peeve.

As far as I'm concerned you're only entitled to your opinion if it's informed, or at the very least reasonable, and yours isn't either. It's my opinion that if you start calling people incompetent with zero idea of what's going on then you're opening yourself wide up to criticism. Carry on.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
