Well Shane Neaves to the ressies for Sandy.. what's everyone's thoughts? In my opinion, very disappointed. bloody Mark Jamar!

I will believe that when I actually see it.

Neaves has been in great form ... a very potent ruck combination of Neaves and Jamar...

Surprising ... although Jamar isn't in the 22, so at least that would mean PJ will play in the ruck, where he plays for the Demons ...

ABC2?

Channel 2 tomorrow at 1.00 pm ... and the final game of the year - Sandy v Coburg is also "live" on ABC.

Kevin Sheedy is a strong supporter of his VFL team. It wouldn't surprise me if this was his his first public appearance since the axing. Perhaps someone can ask him if he wants the Melbourne job.

Posted
Besides, Jamar and PJ are both playing.

I would say that the club is going to take an extra player across to Adelaide and the likely candidate for that job is Jamar. Hence, Neaves being position rather glaringly on the interchange for the Zebra twos. (It's either that or Neaves is under an injury cloud - you don't drop your premiership ruckman from the year before to interchnge for the ressies!)

Both teams playing well with Sandy missing a few easy shots. CJ dominating and should have kept his place in the side with the skills his got. Jamar is just not up to AFL standerd yet let alone VFL! Neaves should have played! One player that has really impressed me across half back is Jace Bode. If he can string together some good strong games he could get elevated and take Daniel Ward's spot! He is very quick, good skills, strong and good reader of the play.

Neaves not playing is an absolute joke, how are you meant to development a player with potential when he's forced to play for Sandringham's reserve team?

That brings up the question again of the Melbourne/Sandringham relationship.

Sandy wants to win and with Jamar and big Johnson in the side they probably had too many big men.

Good win by the Zebras.

To kick 11 goals in that last quarter is amazing!

I watched Jace Bode closely all game and this guy is ready for AFL IMO. Twenty-five touches and he was solid across half back showing a lot of pace and hardness.

Should be playing him ahead of guys like Brown and Ward.

Wow. Big call dazzle... You're in on the ground floor with this guy. Let's see if you're right...

Don't worry mate. I watched him like a Hawk and he really impressed me.

I'm sure I wont be the only one who will say this!

It really was a sensational finish by the Zebras coming from a strong three quarter time talk from coach mark Williams. He challenged his players to have a go and to keep their sights lowered and not bomb the ball indiscriminately into the forward line. They answered in the best way possible. Summers and Poyas the stars, Jamar, Bode. PJ, CJ and the Byronator doing well and Sautner booting a lazy five to retain top spot in the goalkicking. At the other end of the ground Carroll was solid after giving away a few frees early.

Sandringham 3.5.23 6.9.45 9.12.66 20.14.134

Bendigo Bombers 2.5.17 4.10.34 11.16.82 14.17.101

Bendigo Bombers Johns Heffernan Lonergan Carter Reimers Johnson

Reported Player

Sandringham David Gallagher (Sandringham) for charging D. Dick (Bendigo)in the second quarter.

The reserves had an enormous win to stay in finals contention. Four goals from Isaac Weetra up forward was an added delight for Demon fans.

Sadly in reality he's lucky to be playing with Sandy's first team and not stuck in the reserves.

How is it that all three of our emergencies for tomorrow played?

Too bad if anyone does a hammy in the warmup tomorrow.

Valenti is a go for a rookie spot.

pickett did well enough to suggest he will get his 200th game that riley promised him if he played decent form for sandy

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
