I am watching but Kentfield hasn’t been mentioned

Looks to be playing very deep. Only the one free kick against I think.

We do have all four of our KPDs in the seniors this week, which I imagine won’t be a common occurrence…

But it does show that we are more than a little light on KPD depth on our list.

Adams isn’t it, sadly.

Matthews having some nearly moments inside 50 with his intensity at the contest. Think he's going to be a fan favourite when he really gets going.

Adams getting torched, not much from an AFL listed perspective to get excited about so far except the big Moose.

Jeffo just continuing to tease, in year 4 whilst the 1st year KPF at the other end tears teh game apart

Our ball handling is simply atrocious.

Can't pick up the ball, pass it or receive it.

Hawks should be further ahead and look a class above us atm.

Max looks good on the positive side and Jeffo doing well. and could have three.

Haven't seen Luker touch the ball yet.

el jefe - 4 aerial contests, 2 contested marks and 1 free for (all resulted in i50 set shots), 1 goals 2 (i think? only credited with 1 on the stats), and 1 goal assist to aj

max the younger - looks like a blonde max the elder; dominating in taps and floating back to take contested defensive marks

we are getting smashed in the midfield

Casey kicking with the breeze this qt?

Reward the tackle umpire!

Jesse Craven slips catch!

Goal!

Toby Sinnema intelligent kicking?

Jesse Craven made it look good.

Schubert 5th Symphony?

El JEFFO dribble mania goal!

Sinnema looking great on the wing. Looks to have put on some size. Adams unfortunately is getting a bath.

Casey hanging on within 12 points.

Desperate defence no reward for high tackle?

Dawks seventh goal.

Luker great judgement and mark.

Goal!

There is absolutely no such thing as " holding the ball" in the VFL.

Hawks give away a dumb push in the back resulting in an extra shot on goal putting us in front

Good to see the commentators and camera man have no idea of the double goal.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
