2026 Injury List

Does anyone know how Disco broke his hand?

Accidental kick to his hand during a contest. Kicker not known. It could’ve been “friendly fire” (oh how I hate that term).

So we recruited McAdam for a 2nd round pick (that we ended getting back for ANB). He’d played 50 games in 5 years at the crows. Then he plays 3 games in 2024 before getting injured and missing the season. Misses the full 2025 season with a knee injury. Now it’s his Achilles. At age 30, that is typically a tough recovery. And we know an Achilles is serious. Spargo missed a year with an Achilles.

mcadam has already missed a year with an achilles for us, after missing a year with an acl

he's now set to miss, in all likelihood, most of his third and final season of his deal with a calf injury

he's been very, very unlucky

I was so excited about McAdam when we got him, thought'd we got a good one but just has had the worst run it's terrible, for him most of all (

Still hopefully we might see him at some point, really do hope so, wouldn't that be something if he just popped up ready to rock and actually was a player!

Ridiculous amount of hamstring injuries in only 2-3 rounds. Something like 24 and to some of the best in the league

All these byes can't be helping.

Well done, so far, to our conditioning guys as we have no soft tissue injuries

No Melky on the injury report. Hopefully he's ok.

yeah any word on this, or an update on training this week and how invovled he was?

What are the odds that we'll still be reading "Shane McAdam — Achilles / 2-4 weeks" in August?

i dont know why we didnt retire TC as well or at least add to LTI list, hes 34 with a neck injury and an unrequired player an extra body would have been so ideal for us this year, hopefully we make a move in the msd with him. pointless not to

clearly you do as you made a point of commenting on it

This comment doesnt add anything.

Along with people quoting posts 3 times in 1 post these cheap lines are a bit unimaginative and just waste air.

And this one does?

Incidentally, people aren’t deliberately quoting posts three times in one post. When it was just Pickett Fence doing it we all thought yeah that’s soooo PF but it’s happening to several posts/posters; clearly it’s unintentional.

Lets not forget that he turned up to his first pre season for us in pretty poor shape & his games at Casey were pretty underwhelming.

No chance of forgetting when it’s periodically brought up 🙄

I think we can put a line underneath McAdam at 3 games

Sad for him it must be infuriating not to get on the park. I guess he played 3 more games for the MFC than I did.

You were a bit unlucky at selection.

He'll never play in the firsts, so retire him, waste of a list spot. Hopefully he goes before the mid season draft.

To be fair, a lot of that is players recovering from old injuries or conservatively managing 'hamstring awareness' in Gawn's case.

Bowey is a terrible blow but we've all seen what he can do when coming into the team late in the season.

Any mention of concussion, especially for a young player, makes my skin crawl but on the other hand just a few seasons ago a knock like that would barely have been mentioned and he'd be back at it with only marginal precaution. It's a bit like [censored] statistics going up dramatically when they actually get reported properly - there wasn't an increase, it is just that we are noticing them now and responding.

Touch wood and wash your mouth out, but we shouldn't be crying about our injury list at this stage.

I'll be watching intently to be reassured that the new regime embraces the long-term view of injury management. Not just conservative timelines - I'll echo other people's comments on the training thread in saying I'd be more than happy to see players doing their own 'in-season pre-season' to build up fitness before being returned to the side from long layoffs.

Concussion makes my skin crawl, too. I don't understand why more players don't use Gus-type head protectors. I suspect the AFL will make it compulsory when the next concussion frenzy occurs in the media.

Because they don't actually do much, and they certainly don't provide the guaranteed protection you need once things go legal, as in many of these cases.
