One of the ones I am most excited about. With a few somewhat unplanned vacancies, he has a really good opportunity here and I imagine will lock down a spot. Love the way he goes about it.

Interesting all the love on here for Culley. I think he's shown a couple of decent signs, and probably shoudn't have been delisted by West Coast, but I'd be very surprised if he's in our best 22 when we're challenging again.

McAdam may be the nicest bloke in the world but right now the (effectively) McAdam for ANB trade goes down as one of the worst in AFL history.

I'd have thought he'd be absolutely bending over backwards trying to rectify that.

Hyperbole. It was a second rounder FCS

If he plays a role

Agree he's not walk-up, but we need guys with his enthusiasm. Thought his few games with us he showed a lot, really took his opportunity and would say the opportunities will keep him motivated to try and lock down a spot. I think he can.

Can't really begrudge someone who isn't contractually required to be at training but it certainly is an interesting choice. Happy to give him the benefit of the doubt and maybe he has been told to take it easy. Otherwise an interesting choice. 🤔

Agree. If I hadn't played a decent AFL game in three years, am out of contract at the end of the season and have a new coach to impress, I reckon I might turn up earlier than contractually required to show that I actually want to play senior football next year. Even if I can't fully train at this point.

Richmond and John Pitura say hi. As do St Kilda and Bill Barrot...and Andrew Lovett.

Huh? I can repeat what I said if you like - the trade was EFFECTIVELY McAdam for ANB. The same pick.

One was an incredibly durable and selfless premiership player, had played 180 games and had just finished 3rd in the best and fairest. He walked into his new club and was appointed vice captain within a month.

The other (who's actually older!) had played 50 games, never more than 15 in a season and was in and out of the team in a side that consistently finished in the bottom 6 in his time there.

Dress it up how you want, and I'm actually not a Tim Lamb basher, but that is an absolutely catastrophic trade result.

AFL mate not VFL.

And I stand by the fact it'd be up there. Disastrous.

It’s not like he’s simply not training in any capacity. Wheels said he’s keeping up with what’s demanded of him. If anyone has a problem with him not being here (remember- he’s not yet required to be here) and their issue is it’s not a good look, then maybe they need to speak with Wheels or Kingy or AMW or Ricky M or Selwyn before they judge him. And by judge I mean disparage.

Sincerely hope and if he has a clear run believe that this will age like Joanie Cunningham

No idea who that is but ask yourself whether he’d get a game at Brisbane, Geelong or Gold Coast. Or in our 2021 team.

The top sides he’s not getting a look in.

CATASTROPHIC.

When something actually bad happens - you have nowhere to go.

ANB was an excellent role player who wanted to leave for family reasons. The currency in question was ND25. It’s ridiculous to talk about the McAdam trade in such terms.

Culley was named top 3 by the coach after week one of training. At present, he looks a lock for round 1 best 23 no matter how many of the list are available.

My first trip to training in many a year, so I have no comparisons to make from previous years. The players look happy and engaged, I have notice not a lot of down time, they seem to move from one discipline to another with a minimal break. Got to meet Kev and Ghostie, (I’m a bit starstruck). Observations of the morning, Sharp, Laurie, Culley and Sparrow stood out for me in the match sims. Lindsay and Langford seem to do stuff with a minimum of fuss

He is a 22 year old and last year was his first full season since being drafted. He lost time due to an ACL. He kicked 4 goals in an AFL game as a 19 year old.

He is an ultra big bodied mid who is very strong in the air and can kick a snag. This is good.

If he continues to build on last season effort he gets a game at all of those teams. Injury is the caveat.

List managers should get sacked at West Coast for premature ejection. They know that they have majorly screwed up.

Google Joanie whippersnapper.

Sorry but you’re delusional if you think he gets a game at those teams. He’s on the fringe of our best 22 and we’re a bottom 6 side.

Saying West Coast’s list manager should be sacked on account of letting him go is also bizarre. We were the only club interested in him after they cut him and even after training with us for the entire pre-season he was still overlooked for Henderson who hadn’t even trained with us, and he only got a call up very late after AMW did his knee.

He’s a serviceable AFL footballer but once we improve I think others will go past him and he won’t be best 22. That’s ok.

Let’s agree to disagree and move on. Hope you’re proved right and he’s got a premiership medal around his neck one day.

I know he is not required but for a guy that has been a bad investment in return due to injuries and form you would think making the best impression you can in front of a new coach would be the highest of priority.

Stark difference too CJ who said that whilst he didnt need to be there, he wanted too because thats always been his thing was to attend day 1 of preseason regardless if he wasn't required.

EXACTLY!!

You are using the fact that he was cut, and overlooked, to form your opinion of his value.

I am using data and my eyes.

Your comprehension needs a lot of work, you disingenously argue against postions that aren't made, and you insult people. Chill.
