Seems to have burnt quite a few bridges at her previous clubs. Her premiership reunions are going to be a hoot.

She hasn’t a loyal bone in her body. When she leaves a club there’s no love lost, this is the prevailing feeling. Get this… I told both Kate and Tess (our W doctor) about the convo with Zanks and they both agreed it was a good idea so long as Zanks doesn’t get reported. 😅

Violence is NOT condoned. But accidents do happen 🤭

The entire squad is on a training camp next week. I think they said it’s in Bright.

Dang, I'm not back until the week after. Our farm is halfway to Bright from Melbourne. If we already had possession of it and I was there, I'd be all in for a little trip to Bright....

Went down this morning which was my 3rd trip this pre-season.

It's obviously so very early yet without the senior men back but still I have seen enough to make a few judgements and observations.

Firstly on the running, there were 4 or 5 groups running at intervals and with some players getting passed and at one stage one group going in the opposite direction it was hard to keep up with but I was very impressed by Kolt who blitzed his group by almost 40 metres. This was a quality group with Culley running very strongly in second with Windsor and Langford 3rd and 4th going okay. Sparrow and CJ had a good battle in one of the other groups, AJ easily won his group powering away to beat JVR who did well to get up for 2nd with Lindsay bringing up the rear and another really good battle was Kentfield and AMW. AMW just sat on Kentfield and got away in the last 50 metres. He looks good even though he's not yet back in the main group. New recruit Berry got lapped by Kolt and ran last by a margin but completed the task and it was nice to see Kolt make his way across the oval to Berry to chat and encourage him. Kolt has real star quality about him, he is probably one of the players who can step into the vacuum left by Tracc and Oliver leaving. I know he's barely in the top 22 let alone the top 50 of the AFL but there is something about him and if his footy can rise to a break out season .... well anyway he has started his pre-season well.

Another who looks like he might rise to another level is Jai Culley. Has put himself in everything from contested mid work to impressive forward play and he, like Kolt is very fit. In one end to end drill he played forward, always found space and finished well, with a few classy dribblers ala Kate Hore (obviously without the pressure). He is a nice size and most often outmarks smaller opponents which makes him dangerous floating forward.

It was great to see Fritta and Salo turn up and contribute. They are super classy without match day pressure and laced out their passes with ease. At one stage they competed in a simple one on one marking, wrestling, scrapping drill with the ball being kicked in from 40 metres away and it was great to watch. Fritta got the best of Salo probably 3 of the 5 contests with finger tip marks or body positioning and Salo won the other 2 with equal class. TMAC wasn't beaten in any of his match ups. Jefferson won a couple of his with nice contested marks.

On TMac in the ground drill he was sighting, positioning himself and intercept marking quite a bit and with the emphasis on keeping it all flowing he would play on and 3 or 4 times in a row he was going to CJ who would just turn and sprint,....and invariably run into trouble. It's like he's playing British bulldog, he goes left, then right trying to find a way through. Frost ball is back, he's going to be a lot of fun.

Our kicking is poor, we were missing targets under no pressure, just running quickly, and goal kicking for a while there was horrendous. I think they were working at about 20%. Worst offender was JVR who was working at about 10%. Heath probably shouldn't be forward and is nearly marked by me for Casey, but AJ was good and kicked well. He is another giving himself every chance to get a gig.

Steele was in jumper 22 and he actually looks a bit like Howes with their thin tashes so I had to concentrate on him a bit coz he doesn't do anything flash, but he is a quiet achiever, just rolling around like he's in second gear, moving the ball on to the next bloke and rarely if ever missing a target. He will be good for us, no doubt.

Anyway I love this time of year, it renews my faith in the team and you know, the boys are going ok. Thanks

For a long time she’s been solid; reliable and consistent. But she’s dropped off a bunch of late. She looks so much slower now. This hasn’t been a good season for her.

Agree. I'd add that she is basically playing as a kwy forward, but doesn't take enough marks. And doesn't look a natural key forward.

I'd love to see her get super fit and play as a tall winger.

Did you stay ‘til the end? Cub (Taylor Whitford) was one-on-one with Leb for a while, demonstrating kicking technique. It was great to see. Cub was showing him ball drop technique and turning his foot in a certain way then getting Leb to repeat it.

How good is it to hear that some of our younger guys are actually getting guidance and coaching in areas of deficiency, or even just imperfections.

Especially as that has never ever happened in the past.

That was actually Howesy. Jack Steele didn’t attend today.

Yes, I can only see the last few I pasted. I have re-posted earlier pics and they were around for a while before also disappearing. I don’t know if someone objects to me taking pics… It hasn’t been an issue in the past… same phone, same me, same Gosch’s… I’ll continue to offer my pics when I attend. In the end, I’m in a position to be there and I know others appreciate these snippets from pre-season training.

WW, earlier today you commented that you wished you could post more pics, but you’d clearly run out of attachments allowance. Andy (Demonland) told you how to go about freeing up room for more pics by deleting previous pics. This is why your earlier pics have disappeared.

is there training on friday? website doesnt seem to be updated (or it is and theres no training lol)

Heath probably shouldn't be forward

I was watching Heath do his set shots, and he appeared reliable with quite a well balanced kicking action. My thoughts were that Hawkins (from Geelong, who is possibly helping King as a part-time assistant) may be the best thing for his development as they have similar body shape. Heath moves well for a big man. Occasionally fumbles and misses his field kicks, especially when under pressure.

I still can't get my head around why the kicking is so poor. It's so important that players that couldn't consistently kick well in junior games get drafted late or not at all .... at least I'd like to think so. Did we spend years taking players that can't kick or did our training sessions get so laughable post 2021 that players lost their kicking skills? It's baffling.

Left when some were heading into the rooms. My observation was correct with the kicking being a problem but it’s good they’re putting in the work! That’s exactly what we want. These young fellas seem to care about getting better as individuals and as a group. We are in a very good place with these young players.

The girls will be at Gosch’s tomorrow and Friday. Start time 10:30am

The boys will be there tomorrow and Friday - new start time being 8:45am

The boys are heading off on their training camp on Friday but they’ll be training at Gosch’s that morning before they leave. 8:45am start time.

I think no one gave our girls a chance of beating Adelaide last week which is why these training times have been scheduled/amended last minute. This is just my guess but it makes sense.

I’m not sure if you’d know the answer to this but do the rest of the men’s squad go up to Bright with the 1-4 year players on Friday or what’s the go with that? Hopefully dees media team have heaps of content they can show of the training camp, love that sort of content to get us pumped up. Go Dees

They all go on the camp. I don’t know if the seniors will be at training though.

That's because years ago kids were taught left and right foot, handball both sides, just look at how many players now struggle when forced on their non preferred side and players who get caught trying to get back on theipreferred d side, I hope they fix the hand positioning of JVR when the ball comes in at pace because he has cricketers hands palms open and elbows bent to far back let's hope so.

What's to say some senior players are fully revved up for when they return? New coach, new staff, new players and their last or second-last chance to get a new contract.

Umm, when have the majority of players been good with both feet? If I were dealing with young, teenage players I'd be getting them to develop their other foot. But nonetheless players can still be pretty good using just their main foot. I think youre off on a tangent.

I mean you’d hope so but as you can see I was talking about the younger players who are the future of the club that will eventually set the standards as senior players one day..
