Good call re Outshined. Or maybe Jesus Christ Pose. Kozzie could do the Jesus Christ pose after each goal he scores as a celebration.

If only we had a bête noire for whom we could sing Full On Kev’s? Imagine if Brayden Maynard’s name was Kev and we could all sing full on kev’s mo-om!

Jesse Hogan has hijacked a perfect runout song for his goal celebration song. “Can’t Stop” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Naughty Jesse! 😠

RCHP - "Suck my Kiss" with suggestive posterior movements.

I mean, you can only choose a Soundgarden song. I’ve got a very long list. It needs to be accessible to the masses, so I’d be going for Outshined for instant accessibility, though Blow Up conveys a sense of team. Mind you Rusty Cage or Fell on Black Days are quite apt. Gun might accord with King’s new game plan?

The Day I Tried To ..... Kick. Hopefully next year that changes.

I am the god of hell-fire…

Hey Boy Hey Girl - The Chemical Brothers

Right Here, Right Now - Fatboy Slim

Yes, I’m stuck in the 90’s. Anyone got a problem with that?!

😁

How about…

Guerrilla Radio - Rage Against The Machine.

Sleep Now In The Fire - Rage Against The Machine

Bulls On Parade - Rage Against The Machine

Killing In The Name (Of) - Rage Against The Machine

Renegades Of Funk - Rage Against The Machine

Wake Up - Rage Against The Machine

Pretty much anything RATM

If we were going to use an ancient song I'd rather we go back to a time when we were actually successful.

Say, 1964.

You really got me by the Kinks would do the trick nicely

('ahead of its time' is a much abused rock cliche, ditto 'influential' but both are very apt in this case - incredible song, its fuzzy guitar sound and stabbing chords remain a template in rock music, particularly grunge era rock. For context the number one single in 1964 in Australia was the ultra sugary pop of I saw her her standing there - with love me do on the b side - by the Beatles. Ooooh)

For mine it’s not about the era, nor the title, nor the lyrics. It’s 30-40 seconds of power in the form of menacing, foreboding music.

And there's no such song that is not decades old?

Underrated but something off Invaders Must Die like World's on Fire would be cool.

If you’re after something energised and not necessarily linked directly to ‘demons’ as such, I’d go for this…

Bottom of the ladder teams should have to walk out to ‘spoon man’

Def a good opener, Adam took over the vocals quite well, still prefer Chance but it was big boots to fill.

Within my blood would be killer too, but a little to much swears me thinks 😂

I heard VicPol are hiring.

Apparently there’s a crime crisis.

But honestly, hope all goes well.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
