I don't think king is that good...

Dont think Jeffo was out there.

I heard someone say today marks 15th year anniversary of Tmac' pre-season training. He was out there, didnt need to be. Go Plugger!

Thanks to all track watchers, I will smile more today ! Go Dees

No soccer balls. No S&Gs. No clowning around. Serious AF training. Kingy has such a presence out there, he’s an imposing figure. But like with many man-mountains he’s a sweet person, to me anyways 😊

Did you get to say hi to him again?

I am attended most of the training session today. I had the great pleasure of talking to my great friend the wonderful Ghostwriter. I also met Kev. I was most impressed with how fit everyone looks. Also great see all sessions been performed at great pressure. Also great to see no soccer balls at training as they are playing AFL and not soccer. Also while at training my 2026 membership pack was delivered.

From Insta: Gawn, Melk and Langdon seem to still be at a training camp in the US

May appeared to be in Vietnam (with a few blokes I didn’t recognise) judging by his Instagram a couple of days ago

I came across Jake and Max training by themselves a week or so back at Harry Trott oval while I was walking the dog. They had been at it for a while it seemed. They kept doing repeat 200m. sprints until almost collapse by the look. They had just enough energy to give me a thumbs up. Both in top form.

Stephen King had mentioned that 15 of the Year 1 to 4's were required today:

They were Windsor, Tholstrup, Langford, Lindsay, Jefferson, Howes, Adams, Sharp, Mentha, Johnson, Henderson, Kentfield, Moniz-Wakefield, Culley and Berry - all present.

The other 12 were JVR, Lever, Laurie, TMac, Campbell, Sparrow, Petty, Chandler, Steele, Heath, Minocek and CJ.

Total present 27 - absentees were May, Salem, Viney, Turner, Gawn, Langdon, Bowey, Melksham, McAdam, Rivers, Fritsch and Pickett.

Total 39 on the list with the draft to come.

MIhocek will be a while with his toe - so will Moniz after the Befbruary ACL, etc... Lots of running for Minocek, Moniz, Steele, CJ, Henderson and AJ and they did not take part in the match sim work.

Nice to see Andy, Fritta and Turner, Slarti, Tim, Redleg, Kev and of course Ghosty present.

Jeffo was there - no material change from my viewpoint....

Chaplin took the match sim. King seemed hands-off. Spotted Rivers, Atkins and Whitford - and Selwyn of course. Did not see Jonesy today - nor Scarlett?

Jeffo was there.

Weather cool, overcast.

When i arrived only TC, Ghosty and some trainers were there. Ghosty gave the players her traditional welcome.

I reckon TMc would turn out to train in a blizzard.

Rehabers were CJ, AMW and Brodie M, though CJ and AMW did some ot the other team drills as well.

Brodie is old/mature enough to exchange some pleasantries with the track watchers.

Lever was moving freely.

As mentionned they trained with big elastic bands, one pulling the other. I tried that once, didnt end well.

Go Dees.

Yep, I'm on board. We'll be the first team to win the flag from 10th spot.

Geez Ghosty, between CJ and Kingy there's a fair bit of 'swiping right' going on!

After training I hugged CJ and some of the boys were saying Hey, looks like Ghosty has a new favourite player! And I’m like Yep, I sure do! Then Oscar (Berry) said, “I thought I was your new favourite! You gave me a nice hug before.” (He’s new, he’s yet to learn I hug anything that moves 😁)

I told them they’re both my new favourite players and we were all having a good laugh about it, until… on the other side of the tent I spotted Luker and he was shaking his head in disgust and muttering under his breath something something not loyal something something. He told CJ and Oscar “Don’t fall for it. You’ll be her favourite ‘til someone else comes along.” 😅. Then he really hammed it up, he said, “She has #44 on her jumper and wears my badge, and now she treats me like chopped liver!” 😅

I assured Luker I won’t be changing jumper numbers and Oscar said “Only because she doesn’t yet know what number I’ll be wearing.” 🤣

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

It's Game Day and the Demons are back at the MCG and have a massive challenge ahead of them as they take on Premiership contender the Gold Coast Suns. What do you want to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
