Yes, he’s doing an MBA. He was back in WA for his brother’s wedding though.

Yesterday I found out why we were denied a home final at Casey. Quite simply… channel Seven said No.  We pushed very hard but to no avail.

Maevo’s right to play!!!!

Except she so isn’t right to play 😫

Well this keeps us rolling with the theme of the season in delivering against the odds as we lose one good player after another to injury.

Geez we're well and truly underdogs now. Hopefully the lions will be overconfident now and we hit them hard early.

I'd never back this team out.

Need to win this to make GF, as otherwise no rest and have to get past Roos in a PF.

Good to know equality and fairness only apply if a broadcaster agrees.

This is what happens in the AFL men’s it’s a corrupt fixture with integrity last on the list!

Let’s hope the game isn’t a repeat of blistering goals by hawks in their final, reality the women’s comp has serious issues when a top 4 team in a final can’t kick a goal

I would be quite happy for us to win with Lions not kicking a goal.

Would be very happy with a boring easy win.

For many years, Brisbane and the Adelaide Crows had the benefit of taking all the best talent from their respective states. Meanwhile, the Dees had to fight for talent in the crowded Victorian club market.

Essentially, it was the Dees v All-State Queensland and South Australian teams.

The advent of Port Adelaide and Gold Coast is bringing more equality to the competition. Adelaide has come back to the field as Port boasts a proud 155 year history with 36 SANFL championships. This attracted significant talent, diluting the Crows power.

However, Gold Coast has no history or special place in the hearts of Queenslanders, enabling the lions to keep much of their talent.

That the Dees have been highly competitive despite the dilution of Victorian state talent reflects strongly on Stinear, Daisy, Kate and the women’s team leadership.

This qualifying final should be a beauty.

To each their own but for the sake of the AFLW it’s a poor optics and questions the talent pool, it’s been 8 seasons yet we have a scoreless team in a qualifying final.

Don't forget Todd Patterson - List Manager extraordinaire - now with the Tassie Devils.

Why is a qualifying final on a Sunday? Seems rather odd.

Should’ve been tonight.

💙💙GAMEDAY❤️❤️

A win today is so crucial. The last final we won was the 2022 premiership. This point is not lost on our young players who’ve clearly been made aware of this. I got the same vibes talking about this with Dingo as I did with Paxy.

One of Mick’s very many talents is the focus leading up to each match. He has a theme and it’s never generic.

Anyways, it doesn’t need to be pretty, it doesn’t need to be by a big margin, it just needs to be a WIN!

And no injuries, of course 🤞

I’m not a fan of finals campaign slogans (still getting over the whole “Possessed” thing in the men’s in 2023) but we have one this year. It’s…

BRING THE HEAT!

But it’s way better than North’s which is NOT DONE YET 🥱

Brisbane's request - they played last Sunday and had to travel to both games....

Which is rubbish. When has the lower placed side ever got the benefit?

Best of luck today girls

tough assignment, particularly without chaplin, but hopefully we can make home advantage count

How's the weather down there today?

A good day for footy.

A sprinkling of rain this morning after yesterday's drenching. Now, no showers. It is cold and we have a slight breeze. The sun is breaking through.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
