One thing in our favour is the Bombers are holding out on Merrett which means the Hawks wonโ€™t really be able to resolve Merrett until late in the period.

Harder to play hard for Bailey if they still have Merrett in their sights.

What I fear though is Hawks prioritise BH over Merrett and then weโ€™re competing against a cashed-up flag-contending club for his services.

Okay then, if they pivot, we pivot. Petracca for Merrett (I am not a crackhead)

Just my thoughts. If we bring in Bailey and Mihocek, are we a better team with those 2 inclusions whilst losing Petracca, Oliver and Judd?

Didnt mention Spargo as he hasnt really played a lot over the past 2 years.

Just a thought... everyone on Demonland loves "Demon Forever" and many despise Tim Lamb. Though the two of them have never been seen in the same room at the same time ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Been told Humphrey had a call with manager and advised he wants out. Its a lot more real than its ever been. Gold coast playing hardball but this will now happen. Whether its us is another question. Not privy to conversations he has had with other teams. I do know that our conversations were very strong and it gave him plenty to think about. As I have mentioned before, another meeting has been organised, this time a lot less obvious than the Tan.

Oh and MFC are interested in Jake Rogers, but this will be treated separately.

Well if true and he selects us it will be done, now that narrative from Coach has changed and you can see he is preparing the few supporters, that they are a great club, prepared to let a contracted player return to his family.

Now if he selects another club, knowing that he can be traded for Petracca fairly easily, we have a major problem with perception of us by Players and Managers.

Hopefully he is told by Suns itโ€™s us to get Tracc deal done or he stays. Him choosing another club hurts the Suns.

ย

If it turns into a bidding war, who currently can outbid us? Considering GC don't need pics and we're far down the road with Tracc?

Well, Rogers is a quicker Spargo. Creative by hand and foot, and elite on either side of his body. Makes sense.

Itโ€™s a big win if it happens and Rogerโ€™s would be an incredible cherry on top

Not sure what his best position is, in a similar spot to the Kolt and one pick after him in the draft ironically.
He is quick though.

Steven May more likely than not to stay btw

I could still see Roos on Wednesday taking him for a nothing pick and us paying a small amount.

Dazzler will be most unhappy at the potential of Humphrey B Bear. Much more fun to laugh at the expense of Demonland posters melting. ๐Ÿ˜‚

On another note,

Mitch Cleary said on his tradies podcast that Steven King has been in Humphreys ear fairly constantly since he got appointed coach.

Hereโ€™s hoping Dimma hates them just as much haha Iโ€™d rather get unders from gws for Oliver than over and see him in a Collingwood Jumper yuck.

Bit unfair to Dazzle Adam, yes he has his moments, as many of us do, but he is a fanatical Dee like most of us on DL and I am certain, would love nothing more than to see Humphrey in a Deeโ€™s jumper, with a premiership medal around his neck.

Yeah see this is where you have gotten this one blatantly wrong..

I would love more then anything to have Humphrey run out in red and blue and would be a massive get and another feather on Kings hat on top of getting rid of Oliver

But I am also realistic that its going to be incredibly hard especially if CC and the Suns have got a hard stance on him not leaving.. and so they should, it would be no different to us if the shoe was on the other foot and Kozzie was meeting clubs in WA. You'd be kicking and squealing demanding the absolute the world

They will ask more then Petracca if Humphrey comes out and nominates us.

Also, I hope yoy havent gone off early on this one...

I feel like there is a world where we turn

Trac and Oliver and Mcvee

into

Humphrey, Steele and Rogers.

He is quick though.

Hes similar to Pickett except he is more mid first, forward second. He'd start forward at AFL level and has the ability to go into the midfield and provide that good 5-7 minute burst similar to how Kozzie was transitioning into the midfield.

I watched him at under 18 level and if he was 182cm tall I have no doubt he would have been a top 3 pick. Hes a jet but hes bloody tiny..

Not impossible.

Keeping 23 to trade for a F1 on second day of ND.

Not in 2026, for mine

Yes on face value I agree we might be less but I think the potential is greater also if we prize out Jake Rogers separately or as a Trac trade offer up plus Derksen Mihocek and Humphreys in two years we would be even or in front.

Obviously Trac Clarry and Judd can all play better and more impact fully than in 2026.

But itโ€™s all about a fresh start and a disposal rate of in the 30โ€™s is not hard to beat at any time. I am bullish that we get mane or bear enough opportunities but butcher and waste the ball.

If we can get 10% improvement more out of nearly all our players ( excepting Maxy Bowser and Kossy ) we would be bottom ( 5th to 8th).

Our draft then becomes crucial but we must have 5/6 players commencing with some from Clarry and Trac high then 23 Juddy plus 2/3 second rounders for Spargo and already held. Not too shabby for Jason and Tim to address Kingโ€™s requests for a changed list!

true, but the interest in Curnow is still real. Gold coast weighing up cheap JUH or Curnow that is proven but older

I think you will find the pies are the natural threat, rumours of DeGoey being shopped around makes me believe in this. No source, just my thoughts.

Here is the thing tho, GC have made Trac promises. Theyโ€™re a lot more committed to him than Curnow or any other big name player

If they stuff this trade up, not only is it a red flag for any potential players looking to go there, it makes them look like absolute fools

Hawks and Pies would need to involve multiple clubs. Itโ€™s a much harder deal then a โ€œhereโ€™s Trac and hereโ€™s Baileyโ€.

Another consideration here is if Suns see themselves contending in 2026 do they want to strengthen us, Hawthorn or Pies with Humphrey.

He is my height, so i think you have just made a powerful enemy.

172 cm puts him about on parity with Chandler and Spargs. With Chuck leaving we are down a little. So if he started in that role with burst in the the midfield that could be promising, not sure where exactly he's played at GC but he's played 18 games in 2 seasons and has kicked 6 goals (all against West Coast and North Melbourne across 2 seasons). Would we get more goals out of him?

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven Mayย

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
