Problem is, Binners, 7 and 8 very likely become 11 and 12 after academy and F/Ss, so two mid first round picks for him essentially. And we may well therefore give up other picks to allow them to match academy picks.

Fair points

But we got XL at 11 and i think he will be prove to he one of the best in his draft year.

No reason to think we can't turn picks 11 and 12 into two guns.

And there is just as much a chance of turning those picks into Toumpas and co.

Trac and a pick for picks is not a good deal for us. Unless they get us pick 1 or 2 then it's better.

I think there’s a chance if we get 7 and 8 we trade up to try and get duursma. He looked great for Casey those 3 or 4 games he played

I hope we are after Robey

The only purpose, as I interpret all of this , in taking those two picks is to turn them into one very high pick and a so-so one in the hopes of selecting one supposed decent kud and another as a lucky dip later on.

And GC have the temerity to want change so they can buy lollies.. well... tbh.. f.t. for a joke

So in my view does that trade stack up ?

Be a big NO DEAL from me

Being Melbourne... bound to go through.

Rate that about 3/10 ( fail )

Still, lets see what happens. It's still only Tuesday.

Robey will go pretty early I reckon.

I’m still holding out blind faith he requests a trade in the next few hours. But what’ll be will be, I just think it’s best to get trac out of the club at this point whether that be Humphrey or Picks.

Yep... among first lot of cabs of rank imo.

We would need to manifest 7 &8, into 2 and whatever to get a decent looking at someone.... imho

So we would be giving up, Petracca and McVee for one single pick at say 3 and maybe a second rounder back (going by GC wanting Trac and pick 24 or whatever we have)

Still far from a Tim Lamb quoted headturner.

25 is turning into a fire sale.

I think this might be the play- Richmond are open to trading one of their two top picks. If we get the first one we would be able to grab Robey I’d say.

Weagles might horse haggle picks also... might.

Yeah it’s certainly less then ideal

If we thought there are "guns" in this draft, why did we trade out of it last year?

Yup, to me that is a disaster.

And worse it would show that we might talk big but don’t stick to our word.

They might but Essendon are keen to get to one and have a better draft hand than us.

We trade our future first round pick almost every year. We own the buy now pay later draft payment plan.

At Melbourne we call it After-Pain

Whatever happens, I’m at the very least looking forward to once again being a productive member of society when this all finishes tomorrow night and not having to refresh this thread every 5 minutes.

2025 #7 for Ess 2026 1st?

Keep 2025 #8

7 will end up being around 11

Ess will be bottom 3 in 2026. That'll give us picks 2 and 3 next year 😂🤔
