There's not any evidence that King even spoke to May, yet alone the rest of the playing group. In fact, King himself said:

โ€œI havenโ€™t had a chance to sit down with Steven yet, that was more a list management decision,โ€

King spoke to May. Take it to the bank.

Does anyone know when the fixture will be released? Always so eager to find out where weโ€™re playing (hopefully not down the highway again๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„)

Last year they were announced about 13 November, so almost there, then 2 weeks of fixture talk in the media, then time for draft etc

Iโ€™m guessing he likely had a conversation with king that was much in the same vein as Oliverโ€™s. โ€˜Here is what we expect of you going forward if you want to play afl for usโ€™. Very different characters and very different responses.

Pure speculation from afar of course.

Cmon down Tommy, thereโ€™s a good role open for you in 2026 ๐Ÿฅณ

Possibly but the difference would be that Oliver could walk out and get a solid trade.

As for the leaks, remember a player currently listed went to school with Tom Mor ris

Well that comment re May seems to align with the suggestion that the leak was soon being moved on from the club a handful of pages agoโ€ฆ

Forum rumours:

Essendon really interested in CDT and in talks with West Coast to trade up to pick 2.

Adelaide are interested in Schubert and are looking to trade up to get him.

Are you seriously thinking that because May and Morris went to school that May would automatically be mates with him. I have heard the closest Morris will ever get to May is about 100m away with a telephoto lens. Sometimes it helps him get a breaking story. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2019-steven-may-to-apologise-to-melbourne-players-after-drinkingrelated-indiscretion/news-story/ff231391d19de476b5324a65889ced2f

I suspect the only reason May has been calling Tom Morris is to tell him whatโ€™s going to happen when he finally catches up with him.

No of course not, however a poster earlier in this thread was talking about the person leaking to media being moved on. Unless I missed something, that never got confirmed so made me wonder whether they were meant to be ousted but never were.

Admittedly itโ€™s a lot of 1+1=7 stuff!

May and Morris went to school together and were actually mates.

They had the falling out when he broke this story and May hasnt spoken to him since.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
