I wonder if the umpires would reduce the 2 million trees the pies get every time we play them if Bucks takes the job?

Surely coaching a win against the filth would give a reconsideration to Troy Chaplin. Automatic legend status if we win this

How could you not want to coach Harvey Langford! The kid is a superstar

Now we have a coaching panel selected, and the incoming CEO saying theyโ€™ll select 6-8 possible coaches that will sorted through for our eventual coach; is there a list of coaches we can come up with?

Buckley, Hinkley, Hird, Daly, Skipworth, Enright?

Any of those in or out or others being considered?

My guess would be

Buckley

hinkley

Skipworth

Enright

King

Daly

would be the 6 the panel will explore fully

ย

Now hang on - I have been assured on here that it is a โ€˜Buckley accompli?โ€™

So what are we โ€˜processโ€™ing here?

Hmmm?

I have no real idea but when Melksham retires, I hope he stays as some sort of forward coach.

I thought Hinkley has already ruled himself out?

Regardless, there's absolutely no way we should be considering him.

In the meantime, any of the assistants need to be told 'yay or nay' by the end of August (according to the AFL)

So those deadlines makes it difficult for the new coach to pick his own team (FD)

Let's say it is Buckley ... wouldn't it be best if he brings his own crew with him? At least in part?

Unless the assistant to he appointed is not currently with an AFL clubโ€ฆ. โ€ฆ.

He went on a Tassie Devils podcast and they specifically asked him if he'd make a good coach for them.

Think you're reading too much into it.

Nath move to Tassie away from his boys, thatโ€™s not going to happen.

I spoke to a friend last night who is high up in the Lionโ€™s camp management. Said he be very surprised if Daly left as he is very imbedded in their club.

โ€œSturt (SANFL) Football Club has granted Melbourne (AFL) request to approach current Head Coach Martin Mattner about the recent vacancy for its Head Coaching Position.

Sturt currently Top of the Ladder in the SANFL and reigning Premiers are undefeated in 28 straight gamesโ€

Found this online. Interesting.

That's long been the word on Daly. Apparently he turned down both MaCrae and Hardwick for fairly recent assistant roles. He'd be a huge get for us imo.

Because the club went backwards every year since 2021, has only won finals in two seasons since 2006, had/has massive cultural issues widely reported on, refused to make positional changes, structural changes or changes to our ball movement such that watching us play was/is like banging your head against the wall, because we had lost members in their droves etc

In a nutshell,100% correct!

โ€œDiscoโ€ took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.ย

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
