3 Gawn

2 Turner

1 Viney (at least he gave manic effort)

How anyone could give Petracca a vote yesterday I assume they just check the stats. His defensive intent was poor and his use of the ball by foot was poor and he was one of the key players missing in Q1.

Rivers was putrid!

Sorry that’s harsh. Rivers ran and carried the footy and had good DE70%. Had to play back more when Howes went down early. Suns stretched us in 3rd qtr with King, Read and Walter. Apart from when Walter outmuscled Rivers in the 3rd, Rivers competed hard. Also got into the incident to support May. Intercepted 3 or 4 crucial times in back half.

Melksham - probably should've kicked 7 or 8. He was thoroughly dominant. Loves the QLD weather

Pickett - influenced largely by his epic last quarter

Viney - putrid first quarter but along with Gawn got us competitive again in the second

Gawn - see above. Witts is a very good AFL ruckman and Gawn shaded him

Bowey - 25 at 88%. Our best ball user by a mile

Petracca - gets a vote simply because he was involved but his butchery is a real problem.

+1

Couldn't agree more Swooper

Um,sorry to spoil your bubble but Rivers was suppose to play 3rd tall and wasn't anywhere near him, left McVee to take it while he was trying to get 20+

For those giving trac votes, don't look at the stat's. He was going 18% by foot. Barely did anything good with the ball

Fair point.

I tend to vote Trac lately because of work rate. Not having his best season but I don't believe it's from a lack of trying. 7 clearances, 10 SIs, I wish there were others stepping up to take the votes but there just wasn't much to choose from.

Also where can you get kicking eff % stats from? Would be very keen to see these.

They mentioned it on the radio about his kicking efficiency

Coaches votes

Gold Coast v Melbourne

9 Jake Melksham (MELB)
9 Matt Rowell (GCFC)
4 John Noble (GCFC)
3 Touk Miller (GCFC)
2 Jarrod Witts (GCFC)
2 Kysaiah Pickett (MELB)
1 Sam Flanders (GCFC)

?? Goodwin - 5. Melksham 4 Rowell 3 Miller 2 Pickett 1 Noble

??? Hardass. - 5. Rowell 4. Melksham 3. Noble 2. Witts 1. Flanders

I dont Damien Hardass gave Pickett a vote. That’s a joke. 3 goals. 25 possessions. Almost single-handedly kept Dees in the contest. Witts and Gawn broke even , or Gawn might have won on a split decision.

These coaches votes are ridiculous. McRae pumps up Daicos. Chris Scott gives Gus votes almost exclusively to Cats players even when they lose!!

They should make that stat available, but of course they need to lock some away so the experts can look like experts god bless 'em.

Gawn is a victim of his own incredible standards. Because he doesn't dominate, even though he shaded Witts, Hardwick rates Witts game highly. Montagna called the Witts the games biggest tagger on 'First Crack".

If kicking efficiency stats are "locked away", I suspect it's not about making commentators look like experts* but keeping the best stuff for customers who are prepared to pay.

*Like so many other things, you can put lipstick on a pig, etc.

What service offers this though? I reckon I'd happily look into something like a subscription service during the season for premium stats. For now we're lucky to have The work of Wheel O Ratings which helps a lot.

I stand behind my crazy conspiracy theory though. Premium stats are kept for the network mouthpieces so you have to listen to them, down the ground footage is kept for the brains trust on the Murdoch based footy shows during the week so we're forced to watch them. We really are through the looking glass people...
