How is it that Essendon pick up a kid in the mid season draft Archer May, who arguably has already shown more than of our Key forwards this season in 2 games ! Can we not identify key forward talent. Can we not develop key forwards.

Or do our kicking skills inside 50, decision making and possibly the game plan mean our key forwards are hamstrung and canโ€™t impact like other clubs seem to ?

I know Jackson was competing against a first gamer but he looked good ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

key forward Bombers VFL to Freo SSP pre 2024 season after missing out on the draft for 3 years

Archer May

Key forward Sandringham Dragons 2023 premiership forward alongside Calser Dear, ignored in 2023 & 2024 drafts

Why is it that we are not identifying these types at the drafts ! low cost key forwards but are already having an impact as goal scoring threats

even Treacy was pick in the 40s or 50s for Freo , may have even been a rookie pick ?

We drafted Jeffo before Dogga left. Maybe you meant Leb?

Jeffo was drafted at the end of 2022.

What Iโ€™m not sure of is whether we used Freoโ€™s future first rounder on Kolt or Leb?

I was wondering why folks on here are expected to know how to speak French. Why French? Why not Polish, or Chinese, or Arabic, etc.

Wouldnโ€™t it have been Leb? He was our first pick.

corey wagner was of course on our list, playing 11 games in 2019, before being delisted at the end of 2020

since joining flagmantle he's played remarkably consistent footy since midway thru last season as, arguably, their best 'small' defender

Big game tonight but not sure given the venue and time of year it will tell us much.

Wish they could start the game at say 7:15

Would be better overall ratings IMO

All the best to McGovern. Absolute gun and shocking way to go out 3 games shy of 200.

Incredible how he was the gel that continually kept the rabble together defensively through 10 goal losses each week.

Could have left for Collingwood (thank god) post 2020 but kept toiling. Respect.

The problem with this is the existence of the thread would soon be forgotten and consequently it would fall into obsolescence, just like Werrideeโ€™s rolling best 22 teams thread that was created specifically for him. He used it for a short while but alas and alack, heโ€™s forgotten it exists and now weโ€™re back to seeing his best 22s in Every. Single. Thread.

Expect they have Gresham on 700K per year

most overrated player in the league. Can't even get a game for the bombers with 11 debutants

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
