1 goal 6 behinds and a Clarry kick to the Port defender - our last scores.

I love my football club so much, but I don't think I can do this anymore. Oliver, Sparrow and Petty doing that. Viney doing that. All the hard work down back and through the midfield, to be finished in this way. I am too exhausted and too disappointed.

It’s the method in which we lose. We clearly tried to be more attacking, but ultimately, inaccuracy on top of sloppy disposal is Groundhog Day. We are a different team style wise, but it really is the same [censored] all in all the last 3 seasons.

That should've been a deliberate shot at goal in the clear. Instead no one up forward takes the game on.

All they look to do is give it off to a player in just as bad a position and pass the pressure on.

Amature hour up forward always bar kozz

Hopeless. Honestly embarrassing from our senior leaders.

Same script, goal kicking once again

Petty just in the way on the wing there

he spoiled turners mark

Sparrow also a garbage game today. You can't keep playing blokes like this who continue to produce absolute rubbish games when they've been in the system for years.

Hope Goodwin is satisfied with his forward set up because as it stands we won’t win another game this season.

Why does he move Turner so late?

Sparrow in our team says a lot about our depth unfortunately.

Geez Windsor has gone backwards this season. Obviously loves his role on the HBF.

Woe is probably shuffling deck chairs but couldn't be worse. Can at least play a cameo in the middle for short stints also.

Without Picketts goals and assist we’d be 4.13

what was he thinking?

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
