Kev is here so expect a decent training report. Sorry, @Roost it far , the deadline of 4pm won’t be met today coz it’s 3pm and they’re not even out on the park yet. I don’t blame them, it’s [censored] freezing right now

Clarrie’s not here, nothing to worry about, it’s just that these sessions are tailored to the individuals and Claz is “Off Legs” today which is sports medicine speak for not running.

I told JVR he might need his big boy pants for Monday. He said he hasn’t been told yet either way. I said it makes sense to have him selected this week. He said (take a deep breath, PF) “Jeffo’s kicked 10 goals in the past two weeks, it will probably be him.”

Probably just a coincidence but Jeffo’s not here today.

With the soccer balls and sherrins in the same picture, I immediately pictured them combining to become pear-shaped, to reflect the Alice Springs game. Actually, pear-shaped balls might correct our goal kicking problems.

No Rick Lever, no Melky.

AMW looking good and looking very happy. Doing one-on-ones with a trainer.

Spargs running along the boundary, in great spirits.

Hi my little sheet rack great shot of spargypants and his kids

The flushing run from those who played at Alice, and a light training for the Casey MFC and Laurie. They were separated into the two groups.

Cold and some of the squad appeared to feel that. Arms crossed, body with slight contractions. (Harden-up Gen Z).

Goody got round to a few of the players for long chats.

Lever, Kossie, Viney, Johnson, Oliver, Melky, not in attendance.

The Alice's did a warm then got into 3 laps of the paddock, some soccer then they had a choice, leave or personal drills. Four went to gather ground-balls, four to goal kicking and the rest followed Max back to AAMI.

Goal practice included, Lindsay, Tracc, Chandler and Sharp.

The seconds had a bit more fun, Chaplin had them in a competitive partnership drill. Then, into some sims with Whitford, 5 defenders, the 12 offenders.

JVR forward by himself and leading towards goal in a few. Then Cambell and Jeffo on either flank leading up the ground. Plenty of looking for the inside corridor and angles into the forward 50.

They then went onto some goal kicking, with William's overseeing.

Marty looks ready to go.

Spargo doing a mountain of running in rehab and his own program.

AMW with a trainer and working on his running gait over 5 meters.

McAdam down at training but didn't participate.

Last on the track was Billings and Brown, working with Williams on their goal kicking.

No GT striped balls in use.

Viney out with a fractured hand

MFC website

Thanks once again Ghostwriter, Kev Martin and all posters and special comments, I imagine that they would have been a bit flat today, not helped by the terrible news of Jack Viney breaking his hand whilst training in Alice Springs over the weekend. I heard Milkshake on radio he said that all they will do this week is goal kicking practise and then on face book Neita said he’s going to get Swarta and the real Whizz together to teach our boys how to kick, if only.😁👍

GW is Picket fence there to ais goal kicking discussion?

They were quite talkative and relaxed.

Appeared as though they have moved on from the Alice game.

Long morning of review and an address from Daniher seemed to have helped them get set for the Woodens.

The others presumably thought that they were ok with goal kicking.

As I said on the goal kicking thread, unless there are very serious changes in attitude and outcomes, membership for 2025 will decline steeply.

I think most wanted to get out of the cold.

I could see that Lindsay wanted to work and create the best system to kick straight, focused and serious.

So, the junior on the list felt it was important, but the seniors didn’t. 🤬🤬🤬😡😡

I'd like to imagine that the main trainings, Thursday and Saturday at Casey would be where the standards are set. The flush runs still seem to be about comraderie.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
