The question is will King want to trade our best player , as he will have a big say, talks of GC just donโ€™t match heโ€™s profile and moving away from city of Melb

Agreed.

None of Adel, Syd nor GCS fit the Brand, Big Club, Big Crowds profile the media accused him of seeking last year.

So maybe all the click bait hyperbole and trashing of Trac about those being his reasons to move were wrong.

ill take everything trac says on face value, he was [censored] off with the standards, and the way we were heading last year, Goodwin even admitted it in his interview yesterday, Trac has openly said he never requested a trade last year and challenged the club to get better and be better. we made waves with this and sacked 90% of our coaching staff.

absolutely nothing has come out about his exit interview this year so lets just cool our jets

No but neither are the three he is being linked with. Adel have their day but don't fit other aspects of the supposed things he was seeking last year and no longer seems to seek.

Twomey has also said Suns are in play.

FWIW, I don't think Petracca will be at Melbourne next year, but had missed Twomey also reporting this (I'm obviously aware there's a general consensus that GC are in the frame though).

Twomey's comments on Oliver were interesting too, although maybe not all together surprising.

I can agree to that. But what it says to me is possibly the entire notion of BRAND as contextual to location etc might all be urban myth as it doesn't bear scrutiny.

I think he just wants to play footy ( a bit more his way than not ) . His SOCIALS etc exist but possibly quite separately to his sporting work.

Granted his audience was introduced via footy and it may well live or die (sts) according to his success but it may not matter where he resides or plays to be just as effective.

I get the idea he's quite pragmatic in his thinking about his career ( now ) . I'd be thinking he sees himself relevant for perhaps another 5 years. That time frame is probably not going to prevent him packing up and relocating.

We'll just have to watch it play out I guess..

Lol...he could end up at Geelong.... with his own lifestyle farm and channel

Or maybe a move couldnโ€™t be facilitated with his criteria last year so has wisely decided to broaden his criteria to maximise his chances of a trade.

Either way a strong statement from Trac or his management that heโ€™s staying would go a long way to quieting down the speculation in the same way it has with Clarry.

Wait ... what! Max is up for trade? Surely not!

Doubt Oliver is going anywhere. Twomey basically said he's a teams second or third option for targeting a mid which means they aint going to be giving us much back and we'll be paying most of his salary anyway.

Can't see the point in moving on both Oliver and Trac with nowhere for that money to go.

Trac isnโ€™t our best player at the moment.

We must inject some more skill and pace into the midfield.

Oliver has a big negative contract and cannot be traded unless we pay half his salary. Viney also has a negative contract. Neither of these players can play anywhere but midfield. (No Viney can't play as a defensive forward because he doesn't run well enough.) That's around 50% of our inside midfield minutes gone.

Petracca being traded is the only logical move.

If Trac wants out, then as long as they take his wage then we will take Humphrey. Straight swap works

Well 2nd B&F & 2nd highest Brownlow votes suggest otherwise

Second best

Who came first in both those categories? There's your best player.

Outside of Max, heโ€™s our best, heโ€™s upside is great, considering weโ€™re heโ€™s come from heโ€™s severe injury both physically & mentally, I get frustrated that many supporters want to toss him out ( not suggesting you)Dangerfield won a flag @ 32 & possibly @ 35,

Kozzy is #2 at our club behind Max.

Kozzy should be #1 by next season.

His kicking is terrible, we just canโ€™t afford to carry so many bad kicks in this team with the style of play needed to be in contention.

Trade now..

Then, by definition, he's not the best.

One of our best, splitting hairs, Iโ€™m sure King has him as top player & instrumental in playing finals!

I agree, but that's not the same as being the best. No hairsplitting here.
