Software version 14.8.1. The current software version on new iPads are 18.4.

Will report back.

You cannot post on that software version. Same issues others have raised. Going to see if I can update to the later version of software on that iPad.

It will update software to 18.3.2.

This is an iPad purchased in late 2018. It at least got to see a flag before being decommissioned.

This new site is great.

All I ask is we bring back the thinking emoji reply.

And possibly something that's detracting but less in your face like the vomit symbol for the more sensitive folk here.

So yea somthing between that and the " what you talking about Willis,' vibe perhaps.

Hopefully you're not rushing the iPad into anything too demanding since its 'injuries' and it's had plenty of time to 'recharge'.

As far as I can tell there is only the light and dark themes. Theoretically the light theme could be made neutral but to be honest for me the "branding" aspect is more important to me than you getting away with not working while you're at your job. 😜

What about the web traffic element Andy? You want as much of that as possible at all times right?🤪

Is there a different layout for phones available or is it just the one layout available?

Looks awesome in Red & Blue 😎

Website optimisation for all devices is a very very difficult project.

This. Almost impossible. I've tried my best with what I have and my own limitations.

Got it thanks.

Is there the option still there to make the colours neutral. You know, like for SFW purposes?

Think that option made it white and green before.

Makes it harder to slack off now.

It's a bit like podcasting and trying to get the mix sounding right on all systems.

Testing out on every speaker known to man - Phone, home stereo, bluetooth speaker, buds, over-ear headphones, bluetooth shower speaker, car stereo etc

You can only test so much. Best bet is usually to make sure it works on the most commonly used stuff.

Finally my old 2015 iPad fired up. iOS 12.4.1 yikes. That really didn't work. The website displayed all funky. It says it will only update to iOS 17 but the Download and Install button is greyed out and I don't think it will update. End of Life product indeed.

Folks if you have a much older device that won't update past a certain point then the website will not work on it. End of story. It's likely that other apps like Netflix and streaming services and apps that require a certain level of security etc like banking apps will not work either. This is a fact of digital life. My apologies.

You would be sorely mistaken if you thought my job entailed sitting at a desk being on DL on the sly all day.

I actually want it for home. I've often been told I have a problem..

Okay so updating a 2018 iPad that did not work on iOS version 14.8.1 to iOS version 18.3.2 worked and I was able to post.

As suspected it's a phone/tablet software issue. I don't know what specific version of software will work but if your Apple device (not sure about other brands) will update to iOS 18 then you should be good.

It is likely that if your Apple device won't provide you with an update at least to 16 or perhaps 17 then it is too old and will unfortunately won't work with this website. My apologies.

That is the case. I'm surprised it let you. The notes on the software update were very clear on this point. It used to be a setting on the backend to force either or. Now it is strictly just email address. I have accidentally tried to login with my username as I've been testing things as me and testing the site as a guest and the login fails with the username.

interesting. so, i logged off and used the autosignon process and now it doesn't work. changed username to email addr and it worked.

so i don't know why it worked first thing this morning. i suspect cacheing or cookies. when i powered down last night i left the demonland tab active displaying the warning upgrade in process. when i booted up this morning chrome is set to restore tabs. i would expect it to display the same warning panel on the tab, but it came up as logged on. anyway it's all history now.

Going forward someone won't be able to try to guess your password unless they know your email address.

The new look is great. Dark mode is awesome!

Like @daisycutter I didn't need to login. I went straight into the Forum and everything went smoothly from there.

I use a PC with Firefox.

I haven't tried to log out - just in case it gets all fussy and won't let me back in 😉

Thanks precious stone Jim . ( By the way, I've always been meaning to ask if you are related to our non shellfish eating friend Joe?).

It's in memory of the famous Diamond Jim Tilbrook.

It was supposed to herald the return of the pre 1964 dynasty but we all know what happened.

Background is black instead of white. Very useful to read in the dark.

Dark mode turns the background from white to Navy Blue. It looks great against the Red! Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you'll see a little crescent moon. Click on that and you turn on Dark Mode.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
