Several users have reported issues when trying to post from their iPads. However, I haven't yet received specific details regarding the age of their iPads or whether they are running the latest software updates. Older iPads often stop receiving software updates from Apple, which classifies them as 'end of life.' Consequently, these older devices and outdated software versions may encounter compatibility problems not only with this site but also with other websites and applications. Unfortunately, resolving these compatibility issues is beyond my control.

So like myself my iPad is old and can’t b updated…bugga🤪

Sorry about that but short of finding a few trillion dollars between the couch cushions and buying Apple and changing their policy of forcing people to buy new devices because they no longer support them there is not really anything I can do. A friend of mine can no longer watch anything on Netflix because of the age of his iPad.

Before I assist you here. What the hell is going on with that font?

This you can definitely blame on @Nasher . Not the font but the missing podcast files.

He rightly removed them from the backup before we did the upgrade last night but forgot to put them back. Sabotage?

Try it now and let me know.

Working perfectly now, thanks Andy!

Ahahaha the font is something I adopted 10 years ago as a joke on my first Android phone. I got used to it and now all other phone fonts seem clinical and aggressive, even if my font invites ridicule from many a friend or family member

Didn't know donations were a thing. I don't really venture away from the forum page. Found the link in the menus, all done. Good luck getting to the target, and hopefully exceeding to help with ongoing maintenance.

‘Clinical and aggressive font’ sounds like an album title for a niche indie rock band from the late 00’s.

Would you describe your phone font as sympathetic and demure?

With the album cover showing a font from the days of the Romans, right? Think we've got a band going, BoBo!

The youth these days say "very demure, very mindful" I believe, and it seems to fit the bill!

Not a fan of PayPal that's all. I'll check for other options. I didn't check if I could donate re c card. I think I can buy a subscription so there's that.

When it gets colder some merch like a hoodie perhaps . Not befitting for my age but that's the point. At a certain age a man starts to wear anything he wants to wear and no mercy for the fool who tries to tell him otherwise.

one thing that would be great to bring back is - on chrome on desktop - when you finished typing a post when you pressed the <tab> button on keyboard it would move you to the 'submit reply' button, and then when you pressed 'enter' on keyboard it would trigger than functionality

fairly standard message board functionality i think?

now when you hit <tab> it just...well, tabs in space beyond the next word (to this area here)

I don't use apple ipad, but is it possible he could download a non apple browser that might be more "modern"?

I think you will find that being able to tab within the text book is adding more formatting functionality within these text boxes. It is likely seen as a feature.

That is certainly possible. Chrome or Firefox might work. It all depends on how old the iPad is. It could be that a simple software update of the iPad will resolve the issue. If it is a really old device that is no longer receiving updates then there is nothing I can do and eventually many apps or features within apps won't work.

i have a quite old samsung tablet using chrome browser and it works fine

btw, great job on upgrade

one last thing, i was able to signon automatically with old system stored signon data of username, password. I thought email addr was to become mandatory?

Thanks Andy. As I said, I can post from my iphone and my laptop - just not my ipad.

My ipad has been recently updated, but i noticed just the other day that its latest update version (iOS15.8.3) does not allow me to update the MFC app (needs iOS 16 as a minimum, and my ipad version does not support iOS16.). So that's more than likely the issue in this case as well. Getting old is a biatch.

That is the case. I'm surprised it let you. The notes on the software update were very clear on this point. It used to be a setting on the backend to force either or. Now it is strictly just email address. I have accidentally tried to login with my username as I've been testing things as me and testing the site as a guest and the login fails with the username.

Days of Roman font would be the skibidi in skibidi rizz that’s for damn sure.

Thousand percent chance that needing iOS 16 and above is the issue here. Unfortunately nothing I can do about that. @Ghostwriter is having a similar issue with her iPhone. We might all need to chip in for a new phone.

Hey @Demonland , a tiny thing, but when I click on a notification (both being quoted and if someone reacts to a post), it takes me to the post above where it should, so I have to scroll down to get where it’s supposed to be.

Dunno if it’s just a my phone thing or not and it’s not a big deal, just something that’s happening.

I don't have any Apple products (aside from a work supplied iPhone that I often accidentally convert calls into facetime on), but impressed by the level of customer care on display here!

Use the Paypal link. When you come to payment method click on credit card and you're away. Have used it many times and never a problem. You don't need to register for Paypal

All going well you'll get an automated email from Andy thanking you for your donation

Thanks precious stone Jim . ( By the way, I've always been meaning to ask if you are related to our non shellfish eating friend Joe?).

My wife doesn't appreciate footy donations so merch purchases work as does direct deposit. Shared c card. Oh what a tangled web,

No need to donate. I don't want to cause any matrimonial disputes.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
