Yes, it is early in the season for this kind of talk, but Starcevich I think should have a thread just to remind us to monitor his progress through the season and develop a clear picture.

It is possible he'll be interested, possible he'll be reasonably priced, possible Brisbane will have other salary cap priorities, and possible he would add an extra set of fast legs to our team, and in particular be someone capable of closing down an opposition small-medium forward, which is a particular deficiency of ours ever since Neville Jetta retired.

Some links to get it started - including a draft profile which has proven remarkably precise relative to how Starcevich's career has panned out so far;

More about contract talks being paused amicably.

Stats

Would be a perfect fit in our defense. However, if he was to move, I think he'd be likely to head home to WA.

we certainly need some mongrel down back since Hibbo retired

Would be a good get

He'd be very handy. Why would he leave Brisbane? Former F/S too.

Brandon is not an FS, he’s the nephew of Craig

whats an fs

FS - Father-Son (doesn't apply to Starcevich though).

Good footballer, rate him, good traditional Croatian surname to boot 🇭🇷

A guy I’d just ADORE at MFC…

Wants to play midfield in years ahead and why not, but for us he’d be a great pick up more as a small back which we’re dying for at present!

Tough, low-key good kick, has an aura about him — why not have a crack dees haha

Thanks for the correction mate.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
