DD's take on our position now...

Recommended Posts

NEXT 4 WEEKS See us play Rich, Ess, Bris, Carl...this could lead to use being 6-9, with a close to full list available, and young guns with confidence. Dare to dream?

However do not let this cover up are serious problem. This is Neale Daniher. We are much better than a 15th side, and till lose 9 in a row is a joke, and we will never win a premiership under this bloke!!!!!!

We must give Sylvia Jones Bate Mclean as much game time as possible, IMO these guys have the potential to be anything.

We must recruit a CHB and a CHF.

End of year trade Travis Johnstone, he is mentally F@cked up.

I want us to play finals, because we are good enough to mix it with the best, BUT DO NOT LET THIS COVER UP THE MAJOR ISSUES IF WE DO.

By the way we will never win a flag with Godfrey in the side(not tagging e.g monday), Holland, and Nathan Brown.

so we finally get our best players back from injury and start playing well enough to knock off sides that are challanging for the top 4 and you this this as further proof that we need to sack the coach?

doesnt the fact that we are actually a much better side that we have been showing (once we've got our players back) show you that the coach has been doing everything he could with the cattle he had available?

Hey, I think I heard you on Sport 927 this morning. You still have a good grasp on things I sse. It is so obvious you know Trapper pretty well to come up with a f****d up conclusion like that! Hey while your at it, why don't you put in for the coaching job down there Einstein

Mate, doesnt incosistent proformances show you that he is mentally soft. I also have heard from reliable sources he is a big drinker and gambler...I honestly hope I am right. He has all the potenitial in the world, but he just does not put in the hard yards IMO. You are entiteled to you opinion.

I think he deserves ( danners) a 1 yr contract and c wat he can do with a full list... If he fails, I think he will walk.. the players rate him very highly..

Trade Miller.. his a fair player and could be very good in a side looking for a taller forward like the doggies could be value too us.. Or use him as trade bait for one of the big boys coming out of contract. eg..judd. pavlich, Nick.W.

You have heard from reliable sources, have you.

Just as soon as I find a 'reliable source' who merrily dishes out dirt on Demon's personal lives, I'll be just as sure of my opinions as you are.

Oh, and I'm ever so thankful that you have granted me permission to have my opinion.

Which is -

Travis Johnstone has had a poor year but has worked hard to try to get through it.

He was putting in a great game on monday, I was beginning to think he might be coming back to the kind of form that won him a best and fairest. But then he tweaked a hammy and we'll never know how he might have gone on with that game.

I'm hoping that he'll be right in a fortnight to play Richmond, because at the very least he demands attention from opposition midfield-defenders, because he is such a creative and damaging player that he can turn games in the blink of an eye.

Like everyone, I worry about bad form from a top player. I guess I just don't see the point making personal attacks on him from the anonymity of an online forum.

Oh, and would everyone please GET OVER you're hate-crush on Godfrey.

"We'll never win a premiership with 'x' in the team" has got to be one of the stupidest sayings in football. Do you think Sydney was entirely comprised of Barry Hall's and Brett Kirks? Was Essendon five Dustin Fletchers, three Lucas's, eight James Hirds two Michael Longs and half a dozen Lloyds?

Actually, on that saying, and while we've got Essendon in mind - the Bombers won a grand final by ten goals with CHRIS HEFFERNAN in their team.

You might remember. Then again, you're probably still complaining about Troy Simmonds' pathetic stats for the day.

He sure was. The man got 52 points in the dream team and only played 1 quarter!

Buddy, I am sorry if it came as a personal attack it wasn't meant to be. T.J has a lot of potential, but very rarely reaches it. He is not hard enough at the ball which is fine, but not when we have many other outside players. Having said that i think he would be highly valued on the trade market.

Daniher had a full list for the nine years before this season.

We know what he can did.

At best can take Melbourne to the finals.

At worst he can help his team go to 0 - 9 using tactics that even a key player has admitted to over-training in the pre-season and that isn't how Melbourne play their natural or best football.

What he can't do is take Melbourne to a Premiership.

Those people out ther who want to give Neale another chance need to go to another club. We have given this man too many chances now. He should have been sacked 3 yrs ago. David Neitz is going down each year and should retire not what I heard on Monday that he wants to give it another year, NO DAVID NO.

We need new leadership on the field and off. Our current committee needs a great shake up and should be seen more. Paul Gardiner needs to look for another job as all his promises he made when he took over have gone down the drain. We need an exciting new President like McGuire, Pratt etc. Someone who has get up and go.

The problem with MFC is we have too many old foggies who are scared to change. Lets go ahead and win

Melbourne have a leadership vacuum and you want the best leader at the club to retire? Hasn't it been abundantly obvious this year that we lift when he's on the park?

If we can get 2-3 more years out of him that would be fantastic, but one more at the very least for some stability in the changeover of captaincy. Not to mention what he adds to the side.

What we must look at is MFC is a business and what each person in the business is putting in. Over the last few years David is putting in less and less. Just look at his stats.

2006 - 68 goals

2005 - 39 goals (think he was carrying an injury most of that year)

2004 - 69 goals

2003 - 65 goals

What are you talking about?

Did you not watch the last quarter yesterday.

Neitzy demanded to start on the ground ,this on its own lifts the team

What it also did was again free up Robbo to win us agame

Neitz = leadership

That is complete and unadulterated tripe.

That in all honesty is the dumbest thing said on this board.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
