They can't just rely on differing ip's. I believe they can vary even for a single user at the same physcal location depending on your ISP.

it's hard to judge at this point in time as they have yet to stop anyone from still sharing

saudi pif must not be happy not earning the $$s they were promised

Netflix allows access on mobile phones but the mobile phone must connect to the registered home wi fi once every thirty days.

I assume Kayo will roll out similar software at some time.

Anyone have trouble watching the Brisbane Bulldogs game tonight on Kayo? I couldn’t watch it after half way through third quarter. Game would not load on iPad or iPhone which is a bummer as it’s the only decent game so far.

I couldn’t even get the app to load on my iPhone. Gave up in the end. No issue all day, but had problems at the same time as you.

Likewise. I tend to log out at the end of each quarter and then log back in at the start of the next quarter. All went south after half time.

Tried the same on the tablet and had the exact same problem. Even went to effort to delete and reload app. Gave up and listened to the rest of the game on the radio.

After the game I tried Kayo again and sure enough, it worked!!!

Same here had to listen on the radio. Bad way for Kayo to start the season. Bulldogs fans would have been very angry as there was no FTA viewing.

I have whinged elsewhere that at ball ups after goals, Fox/Kayo/7 had been replaying players celebrating goals and confining the actual ball up to a small inset. The AFL introduced a new ruck rule to make the ball up contests more spectacular and their broadccasters aren't showing it properly (and sometimees not at all). Ridiculous.

Watching the GWS/Hawks game on Kayo I was pleasantly surprised to see that we got to see the ball thrown up in full screen mode. Has the AFL woken up or was that an aberration?

Probably because yesterday's games were broadcast by Foxtel/Kayo whereas Thurs/Fri were channel 7 feeds with Fox commentary. When it's a channel 7 game you may see it revert.

I use Drogon.tv for my fix. Around $15 a month for all the AFL, NBA, NFL, PPV and pretty much anything else. HD streams but $30 less a month I can deal with that.

Anyways, most Melbourne games are on a Sunday so channel 7 covers that.

That makes sense. In the regular season all GWS and Sydney games appear on 7 where I live, but not this one which surprised me.

I read that Drogon doesn't guarantee it wil show all AFL matches. Is that your experience?

So far this season all the official preseason and regular season games have been broadcast.

I'd try it for a month and see if you like it. Better than forking out for Kayo the way they have been charging.

Yep, crackdown on allright, got a shared code, which stopped working yesterday. Kept trying to reload and I got a nessage from hubble which my sharer has never had to have or have access or login details for me to re logging to Hubble. Cant scan with phone or online! Stuffed!

I had the same problem at the same point on my iPad. Was staying at a hotel so assumed it might have been their wifi but had been perfect to that point.
Turned the game off and went to bed and resumed watching the next morning without knowing outcome. Not a great start for them for the 2026 season.

Interesting! I checked out the website and it gives you absolutely nothing.

I watched the game last night on it.

I think you just have to try it for a month or two and see if it works for you.

I looked at a similar site and decided against it when it required me to join a crypto payment site or similar in order to make payment.

The other issue (I think) is that they are live TV sites in the main so the ability to time shift and watch on delay is limited unless you do an old fashioned recording.

I'll stick with Kayo but they are trying my patience (wallet) !

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
