I just went to the MFC website app looking for info on the practice match, thinking the info would likely not include public transport info.

Well, after looking for 5 minutes for info about the game I couldn't find ANYTHING. Nada, bubkis, nil.

No doubt it's there somewhere, but I couldn't see it. And wasn't going to waste any more time looking. 

I wonder how many fans will miss the first half of the game given it's starting at 10am to 11am. 

@58er given you're so hot on only using the MFC website as the source of information about all thing MFC how about you find the info on the app, post a screen shot of it - and let us know how long it took you to find it.

Update - I found it (note to dees fans - the starting time is wrong. Because of the predicted heat the game is starting at 10am. I know that because i read Demonland. Also note, there is nothing about the Casey practice match):

No worries, BBP. Sadly, it’s almost like the Club doesn’t really care if folks turn up for the matches, especially the Casey match. Maybe it’s because entry is free so there’s no incentive. 🤷‍♀️ 

I hope heaps of people turn up though. It’s good for the players to see and hear the love and support. Especially after the letdown of family day last Friday. At training on Monday many of the boys thanked me for attending with five or six of them adding a little sarcastic postscript about bugger-all people turning up. They know it’s the scheduling and not apathy on the part of the fans.

Well we can’t have egg on your face now, can we! Have you seen the price of eggs?!

 My beloved pet hens are in hot demand atm. I’ve people whom I’ve not seen in ages calling me out of the blue asking about eggs, knowing my son and I don’t eat them. They’re gold right now!

As for the start time of the match, the Fritsch family is making the big trek to my neck of the woods and Fritta made a point of telling his mum it’s been changed to 10am for that reason.

 I have a friend in MFC admin who confirmed it.

I get the impression both clubs are not fussed about fans turning up for this one.

Even over at the North website there's no information or details about this weekend's game on its home page. Where as in the lead up to last weekend the club was making a massive song and dance about their intra club game last Saturday (which MFC if you're listening, is an appropriate time to have an intra club game/family day).

I saw that info about the intra club match on the roos website - it helpfully included who was playing on each team (white and blue teams) and their numbers.

Plus a bunch of other useful info.

By the by, it really highlighted how helpful a proper home training base is.

They had a practice match followed by the family day at Arden Street, which unlike us means all the infrastructure is there (eg kitchen, fridges to store bbq stuff etc etc) and things can be stored and accessed properly (eg merch, equipment, give away etc).

Plus fans get to feel the club vibe - the roos admin is all there and when you walk in their pteniershop cups are in the public entry area.

How can the club not get its act together with the website?

Socials have absolutely improved this year, but we have an older supporter base, who are much more likely to use the website to seek information.

We need to do so much better.

Providing further unpaid service to Demonlanders, I wasted 30 minutes of my life and called Saturday's host - North Melbourne. A clearly "under the pump" membership officer said start time was 11 am - "they haven't been told anything different" - After a tiny bit of pressure she consulted the "higher-ups" and indeed confirmed that the start has been adjusted to 10.00 am, followed immediately by the VFL match (around 1 pm).

I chanced my arm and, after being told folding chairs are not normally allowed for the women's games, she advised that they probably will be allowed because it is not a ticketed match...

But 'all the details' is a bit of a stretch jnr. This is the entirety of what 'Melbourne media' wrote on 7 Feb:
 

MELBOURNE's first cross-club encounter of the season has been locked in at Arden St on Saturday, February 22. 

The Demons will take on the Kangaroos in match simulation play, starting from 11am AEDT and broadcast live on Foxtel and Kayo.

The match sim will consist of four 25-minute quarters, plus game-specific simulations at the end of the second and fourth quarters.

A final pre-season encounter with Fremantle in the club's official pre-season match is slated for Sunday, March 2 at Rushton Park in Mandurah.

Just wanna add… don’t be surprised if you’re stopped at the entrance and told no chairs allowed. This happened early in the W comp in 2023 at Casey. That’s been changed since but it almost happened again last year at a W match at Windy Hill. They would’ve knocked back chairs only this time we asked in advance then fought and fought to get permission and even then it was still no chairs allowed but they provided 20 plastic chairs (god how I hate Essendon). 

Rang the club, was told game starts as 11:00 as stated, advised I had been told by a North Melb mate was changed to 10:00.  I'd go with the 11 time she said, No I'm driving 2 hours and I'm ringing my club for confirmation.  Hold on, the 5 mins later, it has been changed to 10:00.  Are you going to put something on the website to advise all members, don't know she said.  Don't you think it would be a good idea, I'll pass it on was the response.  Great.

There’ll be more people turning up at 11am than 10am. Unless everyone calls one of the two clubs and asks them to double check having been told it’s at 11 am 🙄

Neither club performing well at the coalface. With North, i was give an option to press 3 and go to Reception and that just rang and rang - I know their song now though- so I called again and pressed "1" for membership, got told I was No.3 in the queue, and waited over 20 minutes. Old piece of advice, the first thing a CEO should do every day is ring their customer/member hotline - tells you everything about your organisation.
