Anyone know how long before Lever joins normal training? it does seem he stays in rehab longer than many, when injuried.

That’s probably because he seems to get more complicated leg/knee type injuries.

For those not regular patrons to the training threads I assume the rehab group is as follows:

REHAB: Spargo, Lever, Lindsay & McAdam

and Brown

A small group of the boys ran a time trial before training while I was killing time up the road at Coles 😭 Maybe another track-watcher was here at the time?

Noticing Nathan Bassett much more today. He is taking the main, full group ball movement activity, with Goody looking on. Bassett barking instructions constantly

Rando training player looks a lot like former cat Mitch Hardie

At Tracc’s first session back he was nervous and it showed. But that was then, now he’s yelling out encouragement and motivating everyone and not keeping a low profile. In particular, he’s very encouraging to Harvey. Tracc’s on the boundary watching Harvey and regularly calling out “that was great, Harvey!” The look of pride on Harvey’s face is priceless.

Also, Tracc isn’t holding back one iota. He tackles hard and gets tackled just as hard. Honestly, you wouldn’t know at all what happened to him merely six months ago.

Clarrie’s hand update: “it’s [censored] great!” He says it’s 100% back to pre-injury.

Match sim.

Lovely mark on the lead by Dees CHF Harry Petty

(they’re playing with a backline of Judd and Windsor most of the key backs are rolling through a forward line).

Jed Adams nice run and receive on the next piece of play.

Bad Harry Sharp turnover kicking to Bowser.

Clarry and Tracc racking them up

It was reported that Rick had post season shoulder surgery.

He’s is recovering from a shoulder …was in a sling a month or so ago

Bowser and Salo the 2 man backline now.

Moving fast with lots of diagonal stuff which is good to see.

Not always connecting to the forwards - nice Kalani intercept and spoil there - but Riv, Viney, Koss have all run the ball through the middle

He’s doing a lot of agility and very structured short running for a shoulder. Might be knee related shoulder surgery

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
