Yet it’s ok to relentlessly and unfairly goad me on the subject of Judd and his contract?

OK, well we have all the peices in place- unvailed the new coach, signalled our playing style intent and cultural expectations moving forward, laid out some mission statements etc etc.. We've put it out there...

Now over to you, Juddy....

Don't worry about it Ghost no normal person is gonna judge you however this saga plays out.

Once again we are attacking a current player and denigrating him because he might leave.

This is not specifically aimed at you, but rather posters generally.

It’s ok to post you don’t think someone will make it, but do we really need to ridicule our players?

It's par for the course on Demonland to venerate Spargo, a plodder who has left the club, and stick the boots into Judd, a talented player who is still on our list.

It's amazing that since the season ended, Judd has gone from being an important member of our team, to a plodder who is expendable.

And I don't believe for one minute that he is contemplating leaving based on being guaranteed a positional change at another club.

Who thinks he is a plodder? he is an essential player whose role will only grow in the new style for mine!

Think the boot was equally stuck into chuck, but also not sure you can call out others whilst simultaneously referring to a player as a plodder

If we lose him, it’s a shame, however if we get another player or similar caliber then we will be fine.

We also have AMW coming back into the team after his injury and they’re very similar.

The problem is you lose a 22 yo with 65 games unless you spin that in to a trade for a similar level player you’re off to the draft where a really good outcome is a similar player. The likely outcome is a worse player.

AMW was a borderline afl player before his knee blew up. Non afl level tank. Very poor decision maker with average skills. He’s fun. He’s aggressive. 2 attributes we do need. But that alone doesn’t make you afl standard.

I keep reading all these predictions that Moniz-Wakefield is a star in the making.

I haven't seen anything to date that would suggest that he has the ability to be a regular AFL player, or even a decent depth option.

What have people seen in his 6 AFL games over 4 years that indicates he has a bright future?

I'm sure there are many reasons why people think he could make it, but one that stands out on this forum is an outstanding pre-season game he played (possibly the same one in which he did his knee).

Instead of seeing that as evidence of progress after a reasonable couple of senior games the year before - and hoping it might translate into better perfomances in 2025 - some supporters extrapolated on that game alone...wildly. The result: instead of Moniz-Wakefield being a potentially useful depth player making reasonable progress, he was suddenly a clear best-22 player whose near-certain breakout season had been cruelly denied.

I do like him as depth. Speed, aggression, good overhead. Could impact at both ends. Reminds me of Ben Long.

But any more than that is overrating his games and projecting on a decent preseason (before - knee blow up)

I know, I know. My leaving game’s been good of late. There’s always gonna be that one ball I can’t resist.

Yes, it 100% has - kudos.

And yep, all batters have shot they can't put away (mine was the hoik across the line to cow corner) and every decent bowler knows how to put a ball in exactly the right spot to make the batter play at it.

Well said, Redleg! It especially applies to Judd who is modesty personified. He’s humble and unassuming and that’s his inherent disposition, more so than almost all the other boys. I say ‘almost’ because imho XL is pretty much level with him in this regard.

It pains me no end to see people painting this picture of him as an arrogant, conceited little sch!tt who has no regard for fans and is deliberately keeping everyone waiting, purely based on their own annoyance at the absence of an announcement. It simply couldn’t be further from the truth.

one of the 50000 reasons judd is my favourite is because he is a little sweetieee

this guy stops to chat with me before all the games and i dont think ive ever seen him without a smile. its actually impossible for him to ever be rude i swear

Remember Ghosty, you talk from your demon heart, whereas others, and they know who they are, speak like the evil wind from the posterior of a hippo.

Fair, but i think he was growing into a player whom made better decisions and that he suits modern footy to perfection...

Its always been a Demonland special.

Identify a young player & build him up to be the next Judd/Dusty Martin before he is even established at Casey.

Kentfield is the latest victim.

AMW has shown something but is a long way from a regular first 18.
