Wonder if Adem would rookie Noah 😂

would be great if we signed him with Casey and gave him a few years development while in our program.

Then we would take him in the mid year or a future draft..

Didn't see the point of re-signing Hore as a rookie. Petty and Turner can play back if the need arises, and we have ample key forwards on our list to replace them. Hore is 29 and had an injury interrupted season. Can't see any upside in the player we previously delisted.

From what I saw of the Werribee finals, Henderson looks like a real talent, whilst Johnson didn't look AFL level.

Our list management continues to be puzzling.

I like Henderson but it could be that the reason he might be seen as better than Laurie or Billings (who both tear up vfl) is we haven’t seen him struggle at afl yet!

We have an oversupply of talls but Melk, May and T Mc don’t have a lot left, Lever’s injury prone, Jeffo and Disco aren’t finished products and Fullarton seems out of the picture.

Disco can’t go back if he’s the starting key forward! So Hore has a role as covering Lever as well as a back pocket option if Howes and AMW aren’t up to it and Juddy is used up the ground.

It’s a list in flux. The priority was top end picks and mature talent to fill critical holes. If we cop injuries to the mids and flankers we will be in trouble again but the priority will be playing the 4 first round picks from the last 2 years in those spots anyway.

Dees coming in late.

Been big on Henderson since last year and was surprised when we took AJ over him with our last pick

Perhaps now a chance to reunite a couple of Bees!

at least based on vfl performances, he would seem to be a more likely afl-level small forward than roy george

be interesting to see whether henderson or culley is preferred at this stage

The reason we took AJ was that we took two mids with our first two picks.

Hendo and AJ were basically told of this scenario - that if a tall was taken, Hendo would get picked. Mid picked with 2nd pick, AJ taken.

Let's hope we can convince him to join as he has obviously played in the Eagles' praccy...

I have messaged him but he is giving me nothing!

Just to add to this - he is making the decision today so you would think we will know which way he's gone by close of play today

Surely not having the move interstate would be a selling point 👀

Thanks for the intel though!

Yep - that's what I thought. But when you think about it, probably easier to break into Eagles line-up/security going forward?

He is a country boy so a move won't affect him, but certainly his life is here atm...

yea it’s easier to break into their side but then finish bottom 3.  Whereas if he can break into the dees side he could be playing on the g in September.

Are you close friends with him?

Welcome to the Club Jack. He has chosen us ahead of WCE.

I've had a lot to do with him - yes

  • Demonland changed the title to Welcome to Demonland: Jack Henderson

Didn’t really stand out against Richmond but can’t say I was watching him or the match that closely (or could even see in to the sun).

At the end of the day the needs outweighed others potential ceilings. Kind of much like when AJ was chosen over Jack in November when making sure we had some tall forwards was the number 1 priority.

I hope Culley sticks with us at Casey.

I know so little about him… what are his best attributes and do you think he can step straight in ?

I hope Culley sticks is out with us at Casey. I wonder if he could still be a mid-season draft possibility?

culley was signed by casey for season 2025

the only way he'll be leaving would, i assume, be if he gets a call up to an afl list

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
